Forced Space After Links

Some years ago it was brought up that the forced space after linking cards makes formatting possessive cases or using a linked card name as part of a word look odd and sometimes line breaks happen between the link and the rest of the word that someone is trying to us it in. The forced space was removed at that time. A few months ago it reverted to the forcing a space after a link. Ex. " Protean Hulk 's ability" " Shock ed"
Is there a reason for the forced space and would it be onerous to remove it again? Alternately is there a way that I could format the link so that there is not a space?

But the formatting does not eliminate the forced space. There is an awkward space after you tag a card. Elspeth, Sun's Champion .
I find this problem annoying as well, and hope it’s fixed!

Retyping the complete name twice in order to add 's or -ed seems to be a bit of a clunky fix, but I guess it is a fix, so thank you. I would still like to know if there is another fix or if the forced space can be be removed.
