Erroneous TCG Pricing?

TappedOut forum

I've never understood how to get TappedOut to give me "correct" TCG Pricing. The hover-over seems to be TCG Average no matter what I select elsewhere, but that would be fine it were accurate.

For instance, Mox Diamond, today, 10/12/2020, shows up as $274.99 TCG Average. But the lowest priced Mox Diamond on TCG is a Damaged one for $347.63. Median is $665.33. So how does TappedOut get $274.99?

I thought maybe it was just an old price and I needed to edit the deck to get the prices to update. (That would be a weird code-decision, admittedly.) I seem to remember having to do something like that in the past. Nonetheless, it didn't work.

I figure at this point I'm just doing something wrong. Can someone tell me what it is?

Thanks!!

Femme_Fatale you work with the card listings, do you know how the prices work/can you access that code?

That's the price from April 24th of this year, I unfortunately cannot fix that bug.

Also tcgplayer sucks because what they gave us to connect prices to is horrendously inadequate. Use Cardkingdom. The card-hover-overlay for Cardkingdom is correct (at least for Mox Diamond..

In other news, while our price graphs for card pages are now fixed, we now lost all the price data for everything pre-april of this year (which was when it was bugged in the first place). Interestingly the Card Kingdom price chart has a lot more data than any of the tcgplayer buttons. Is all the tcgplayer price graph data lost?

Though one note about the CK price is that it only gives you the pricing for the most recent printing of the card.

Interesting. So you're essentially forced to use a fixed price list from TCG because TCGs API is just crappy, huh?

At least I understand the behavior now; I really appreciate the fast batsignal and response. :)

Also, just so I understand, are you saying there's a way for me to see current CK pricing when I hoverover? If that's the case, can you tell me how? Or point me to a FAQ or HowTo article that covers it?

Lastly, just wanted to say how much I love TappedOut. I've been using it for a while. It is, bar far, my favorite deck-building tool. Keep up the good work!

The setting to change your preferred vendor is in your profile settings.

We made some changes that should fix most of the prices when cache expires. Thanks for letting us know about this issue.
