Innistrad: Midnight Hunt and Crimson Vow Speculation/Wishlist

Spoilers, Rumors, and Speculation forum

Posted on July 29, 2021, 9:30 p.m. by DemonDragonJ

There are still several months remaining before the releases of Innistrad: Midnight Hunt and Innistrad: Crimson Vow, but I would like to begin speculating about them, now, to see what the users of this forum are seeking in those sets.

First and foremost, I very dearly wish to see a creature version of Exquisite Blood , since there have now been numerous creatures with the ability of Sanguine Bond , but none with the ability of Exquisite Blood , which is both ridiculous and illogical, because EB’s ability actually makes far more sense on a creature than does SB’s.

Second, I hope to see some excellent new angels and demons, since those are my two favorite types of creatures in this game.

Third, I am neutral toward werewolves, but I know that many players are fond of them, so I would like to see another legendary werewolf, since there currently is only one of those, and I know that players wish to have more options for a werewolf tribal EDH deck.

Fourth, on the subject of transforming cards, there have been a number of creatures with abilities that trigger when they transform, but there have been few, if any, cards with abilities that trigger when other permanents transform; for example, I would like to see permanents with effects such as "whenever a creature transforms, this permanent deals 2 damage to that creature's controller," "whenever a creature transforms, its controller draws a card," or "whenever a creature transforms, return target card from your graveyard to your hand," and so forth.

Fifth, I would like to see any of the following cycles of dual lands be completed: the "horizon lands" (i.e., Horizon Canopy , Silent Clearing , etc.), the "battle lands" (i.e., Canopy Vista , Cinder Glade , etc.), or Nimbus Maze (I know that that is only a single land, but it definitely deserves a full cycle).

Sixth, I feel that these sets would be great sets for reusing the unearth mechanic, since that has not been used in some time.

What does everyone else say about this? What would you like to see from the two upcoming Innistrad sets?

StopShot says... #2

I'd like to see a second wave of foretell cards. Innistrad is a spooky realm and foretell would be great in terms of suspense and surprise. It would also work really well with werewolf flip mechanics as you can turn multiple cards in hand face down without actually casting anything just to flip your werewolves.

I would absolutely love to see a complete set for Nimbus Maze or even Grove of the Burnwillows , but I'm willing to bet they're going to complete the Lorehold Campus cycle just under a different naming scheme for ally lands.

Lastly I do hope Investigate returns as a mechanic or they make another white draw effect like they've done the last two times with Mentor of the Meek and Bygone Bishop .

Also can we please get a Slender Man EDH commander? Seriously, what is that thing in Certain Death ?

I'd obviously expect some flashback cards, but I'd really like to see Delirium again, I really liked that mechanic. Lore-wise wouldn't make sense anymore though, I suppose. I also loved morbid.

I don't want to see more Eldrazi, I do not think it would make sense, and I don't think there will be any, but I'd like to see that having Emrakul imprisoned in the Moon has an effect of some sort on the plane, maybe sprawling a new cult in her name (like in its Lovecraftian inspiration, as does Chtulhu from R'lyeh, or as did Ulamog on Zendikar with the vampires). It would be awsome imo, being Innistrad a perfect place for fanatic, shady cults.

Being that we saw a lot of black angels in kaldheim, I'd like to see the return of the long lost flight of Dusk, with theme.

Finally I Hope werewolves become viable in pauper.

I think a vampire creature so that when it deals damage damage to creature that creature also becomes a vampire. Would be really cool. Also emrakul with cmc 40,for no real reason. Definitely not the fact that I have a yuriko EDH deck. Definitely not that.

StopShot, I am certain that WotC shall finish the campus cycle at some point, but do not believe that Innistrad is the best plane for it; I think that Kaladesh, Ravnica, or Dominaria would make more sense.

July 31, 2021 12:06 a.m.

Considering there's Dina, Soul Steeper in the current standard, I'd be very suprised to see a Magus of the Exquisite Blood before she rotates out.

A werewolf commander that is both an actual werewolf AND a functional commander for the strategy would be cool. I propably wouldn't build it, but WotC learned their lesson in that regard. I'm not sure if there'll be commander decks (I guess?), but I'm absolutely sure they will continue to not put big DFCs into precons, as that would either require lots of placeholder cards or would make the deck unplayable for new players that didn't know about sleeves. So no reprint-heavy werewolf precon, sorry.

seshiro_of_the_orochi, Crimson Vow will be the perfect place for such a creature; if WotC does not print such a creature, then, when shall they do that?

July 31, 2021 9:17 a.m.

It would make perfect sense, but WotC still usually tries to not annihilate standard too much...so as much as it would make sense flavourwise, it would massively surprise for the reason given.

July 31, 2021 10:09 a.m.

Including it in one of the commander precons for Crimson Vow would work btw. That'd actually be the perfect place for it.

July 31, 2021 10:13 a.m.

legendofa says... #13

If they do Innistrad commander precons, will Midnight Hunt and Crimson Vow each get their own complete set of four-five? I wouldn't expect so. I'd expect something like MH gets Werewolf tribal and Spirit tribal, and CV gets Vampire tribal ( Edgar Markov , anyone?) and Human tribal, but I've been surprised before.

Has there been any announcement for this?

July 31, 2021 7:48 p.m.

DemonDragonJ says... #14

It is known that Crimson Vow shall feature a prominent vampire wedding, so I wonder who shall be getting married? I predict that it shall be Sorin and Olivia, or, if not them, then members of the Markov and Voldaren families, the two most prominent vampire families on Innistrad.

July 31, 2021 11:43 p.m.

Coward_Token says... #15

Hoping for some good Devils for Zurzoth, Chaos Rider , plus a little more Angel & Devil tribal.

I think we can expect at least one Eldrazi card, but hopefully the flavor will be more Lovecraft than Lovecraft Lite. On that note, I hope that there'll be no Dragons in either set; they feel pretty strongly out of place in a horror setting (they were shoehorned in because they're the most popular creature type). Big monsters have a place in Innistrad, but it should be more like Gitrog or even the thing from Nightbird's Clutches .

And yes, seeing as the Markovs were hit hard by Nahiri ( Declaration in Stone ), with Edgar Markov possibly being killed off-screen, I think it's fair to say that it'll be a political marriage between them and the Voldaren. From a Watsonian perspective, Sorin seems less likely seeing as he's hated by his fellows for making Avacyn, although fighting side by side with them against Nahiri might have led to him being forgiven. Maybe an entirely new Markov character will be introduced as the family's heir?

August 1, 2021 6:17 a.m.

StopShot says... #16

@DemonDragonJ, According to the lore Olivia backstabbed Sorin when he entrusted her with helping him fight Nahiri on Innistrad during the Emrakul invasion. Olivia taunted him when he was encased in stone, took his own personal sword and proclaimed herself the new ruler of Innistrad. I'm pretty sure Sorin would want her dead more than anything, so that's probably the least likely pairing.

Also, whatever the pairing ends up being I think the wedding has a very high likelihood of being a same-sex wedding. Vampires in movies, especially older movies, have been known to be gay-coded and I could see the storywriters playing off of that trope as a nod to the original source material. Definitely be on the look out for that possibility.

StopShot says... #17

@Coward_Token, Normally I'd agree that dragons are overused and I personally can not forgive them for what they did to Tarkir, but I got to make an exception for Innistrad dragons. Innistrad dragons just have this feel about them that really makes them fit on the plane. Take these ones for example based on their art:

Balefire Dragon

Moonveil Dragon

Archwing Dragon

Mirrorwing Dragon

Versus how core set dragons look:

Hellkite Punisher

Rapacious Dragon

Demanding Dragon

Scourge of Valkas

Innistrad dragons feel like what dragons should be, incredibly rare and beyond comprehension. The dragons don't take away or compete with the zombies or vampires or werewolves or the other niche horrors that terrorize the humans. They exist not to hoard gold, break castles or burn crops, they exist just to be scary. Dragons in other sets are fat flying dinosaurs that act like fat flying dinosaurs, but Innistrad dragons act and feel like specters just by their art, its like they're trying to mimic the same feel you get when you look at the art for Hypnotic Specter or Whispering Specter . I like Innistrad's spin on Dragons and I hope we do see one, because they're usually worth it unlike anywhere else where they would be found.

Also why the heck is specter not a creature type on the Innistrad plane? If this is how Innistrad does dragons I'd love to see how Innistrad does specters.

StopShot I actually thought a Sorin-Olivia wedding could happen, because probably not everyone wants Olivia as Lady of Innistrad, so she could have blackmailed Sorin into marrying her by promising him freedom from his rock prison in order to gain more "political" (vampire-wise) power from those still loyal to Sorin.

Although, in my opinion, a more probable hypothesis would be that Olivia and Sorin are only "patrons" of the marriage, and the couple is composed of new characters, "heirs" (don't know how it works among vampires) of Markov and Voldaren families. This way it would be more medieval-GoT politics style. The only problem with this hypothesis is that vampires don't age, so the families will never really unite (Sorin would remain Lord Markov and Olivia Lady Voldaren), but sneaking an ally into an enemy family through marriage would still be a powerful tool.

Third option would be a Voldaren-unknown marriage and someone (a vengeful Sorin?) Who shows up to blow it.

Anyway, I root for Sorin. He IS the Lord of Innistrad imo.

StopShot:

I do think the presence of Dragons take away from the monster mash of the plane, as they inspire thrill and awe rather than fear, and that dillutes the flavor of things. But that's just, like, my opinion man; you'll probably get what you want as their inclusion doesn't seem visibly impopular.

August 1, 2021 9:46 a.m.

legendofa says... #20

Slightly off topic, but the so-called iconic creatures are being shoved in everywhere. Wren's Run Hydra is, in my opinion, one of the most completely flavorless, gratuitously pander-y card in the game. Apologies to anyone who likes it, but hydras in Lorwyn make no sense to me.

Back on track, does anyone have any predictions for the planeswalkers of the set? If Sorin shows up, there's a pretty good chance Nahiri will be there too. Add or Davriel, and that just leaves .

August 1, 2021 12:38 p.m.

Coward_Token says... #21

Yeah that Hydra card is way worse than the Dragons I've mentioned; it's such a strange choice seeing as it was printed in a plane-unspecific set. Mind you, I'm not super happy about Ulvenwald Hydra either (how big is the forest supposed to be if multiple giant Hydras are slithering around in it?), but at least it's appearance is appropriately uncanny.

All the post-War of the Spark Premier sets have had conflicts between individual planeswalkers so yes, I think we can expect it here too. I think Nahiri will sit this one out since it wasn't that long she was featured, she's already done serious damage to Innistrad, and Zendikar not being in danger anymore means she's probably not prioritizing hurting Sorin much.

With an entire set dedicated to Werewolves, it would be strange if they left out Arlinn Kord  Flip.

August 1, 2021 1:01 p.m.

legendofa says... #22

Coward_Token Good picks. I'm going to go with Sorin-Arlinn-Davriel, with at least one other because it's still technically two separate sets.

For the conflict, Davriel hits most of the sinister bad guy points, and Arlinn's solidly on the good guy side. Sorin is willing to work with the heroes. Unfortunately, even though they all live on/come from Innistrad, there's no real indication they know each other.

StopShot, it is well-known that vampire stories contain a large amount of thinly-veiled sexual innuendos and double entendres, but the idea of vampires being a metaphor for homosexuality never occurred to me, and, given that vampires are more often than not portrayed as predatory, is it really a good idea to imply, however subtly, that homosexuals are predators?

August 1, 2021 5:08 p.m.

Gleeock says... #24

I mean you almost need a dragon if you have OG Markov being very similar to DRACula/Vlad :) - heavily based on the "Beast"/St. George-fighting version of Satan. When thinking of dragons in Innistrad, you shouldn't forget the old Christian (yes pre-Christian as well) roots of the great adversary taking the form of a dragon. Not all that is dragon is all high-fantasy.

  • Mechanicswise, I think there was more opportunity for "Ingest" & I would love to see more ingesting
  • I like bastardized color-associated eldrazi that "naturalize" to the planes they are left behind on... Maybe they become aberrations? Also like Lovecraftian cults with various mutations (mutate would be so fun for cultists)
August 1, 2021 6:20 p.m.

Gleeock says... #25

That being said, they had the dragons already. I agree with whoever said more Devils (I really like Magic's take on Devils).. & actually considering the track record of this plane having big badass demons, wouldn't it be a great time to show us the first true baddass arch-devil?? & how much more would you get than having some polymorphing ability attached to a token-producer. A Devil that mutates people & cultists into horrible twisted things.... I'm in!!

August 1, 2021 6:29 p.m.

StopShot says... #26

@DemonDragonJ, Its 2021 and the general public has a much better understanding of what homosexuality is and isn't. There are more "controversial" groups of people who I would worry about characterizing in such a way, but from my understanding the gay community seems to enjoy any representation even if they're villains in media such as how some really sympathize with some Disney villains that would be portrayed as such. The point here ultimately comes off to story execution. If the vampires are written as they're gayness is what makes them evil, THAT would be bad. If its written as they're evil characters who happen to be gay, I think that's great. Good characters are complex characters and I'd find it much more interesting when characters have morally complex aspirations and character flaws than trying to keep things cookie-cutter good guy who can do no wrong. Besides, its not like a non-gay vampire would be any less predatory than a gay one, they're vampire first, sexuality second, which is how I believe many people would see them as such. Also being a vampire isn't always inherently bad either nor are all the humans who are victims to vampires always good. Sorin Markov is an excellent example of what people consider to be a good vampire, and you could write a gay vampire in the same light.

There's a kind of writing you give to certain characters when you're trying to push back against real world harmful stereotypes, and when you're writing with that point in mind it can be really hard to strike a balance that holds a marginalized group on a very high beaming pedestal while changing the minds of those who would get mad at the idea of picturing such a thing. What helps with public relations is you make that character gay, but you give them a lot of qualities that lots of people can get behind. Some people really like vampires in MTG and having a gay vampire character could be what might opens up their views on what it means to be gay. That might sound silly, but for me personally I feel like that's always been an aspect that has warmed me up towards dropping hateful beliefs for more compassionate ones. There are ways you can write morally questionable gay people without it coming across as homophobic, write them with good intent with real gay people to proofread and offer critique and you can end up with a character a lot of people can get behind.

In short it will depend more on how its written than the concept itself with outcome ranging from ignorantly offensive to adored icon. Some people really love a good villain and that in itself can have its own ways of opening up real world perceptions for the better.

DemonDragonJ says... #28

StopShot, that definitely makes sense, and I think that WotC has mostly been doing an excellent job of portraying homosexual or bisexual characters recently, so there should be no problems with having homosexual vampires.

As for the wedding, itself, does anyone here think that the story writers at WotC may take inspiration from A Song of Ice and Fire and have the wedding guests be brutally massacred? I highly doubt that the wedding shall happen without any problems, and the name "Crimson Vow" sounds very ominous, to me.

Previews for the two Innistrad sets have begun! Only a small number of cards were revealed, but I am very pleased with them.

Here is a link to the article in which the information was revealed, if anyone wishes to read it.

Play with fire and infernal grasp render both Shock and Doom Blade obsolete, but I imagine that not many players shall miss those cards, to a great extent.

Champion of the perished is a nice reference to Champion of the Parish, although I really think that it should have had the soldier type, since the original was a soldier.

Triskaidekaphile is awesome, and I absolutely shall put it into my Nekusar, the Mindrazer EDH deck, as that card would be an excellent addition to that deck. Having thirteen cards in hand is not especially difficult in decks that are designed to have many cards in hand, so I hope that that creature does not prove to be too powerful for most formats. Also, this is one of the few instances in which I prefer the normal artwork to the promo artwork, because, as nice as the promo artwork is, I feel that the normal artwork does a better job at portraying the idea of the card.

I am pleased to see flashback return, again, but that definitely decreases the chances of unearth returning, which is disappointing, since flashback has already been used on Innistrad, whereas unearth has not been.

The basic lands with dark and creepy artwork are amazing, so I definitely hope to obtain some of those for my decks.

I see that Wrenn has returned, and with a new treefolk companion, so I wonder if she shall play a role in the story?

The packaging artwork for Crimson Vow heavily implies that the wedding will actually be between Olivia and Edgar, which is very interesting, as it raises the question of where Edgar has been for this entire time.

Is anyone else excited for these sets? I certainly am!

Still kinda worried that they'll be dialed-down if a large part of them will be included in the Standard-legal products

StopShot says... #35

Given some of the card throwbacks as spoilers, I had a card idea. A lot of people are comparing the black removal spell as an upgrade to Doom Blade. Doom Blade’s mirror opposite is Purge. (Technically, its the opposite of Terror.) White has also had similar removal in the form of Cleansing Ray.

So the black spell is a better Doom Blade and the red spell is a better Shock. What if for white they wanted to make a better Disenchant, but also make it a thematic throwback card to something iconic to Innistrad? (ex. Victim of Night)

Victim of Day -

  • Destroy target artifact or enchantment.

• three popular mechanics previously seen on Innistrad return: aside from flashback, would transform count? Madness seems likely. Undying?

• “At the beginning of your end step, if you have exactly 13 life,”:More 13 goodnes (it's obviously not Triskaidekaphile or Triskaidekaphobia)

• a popular Innistrad card gets reprinted: ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

• a curse that transforms into a creature: Neat design space! I hope it's an Aikido-esque card, e.g. while it's a Curse it puts +1/+1 counters on itself whenever the cursed opponent draws, and then at the beginning of your upkeep it transforms into a flying creature without that ability. (Probably something way better than that but you get the picture.)

• a character from Innistrad once mentioned in a short story finally gets a card in an Innistrad set: Your guess is as good as mine..

• Creature – Dragon Egg: [shakes fist impotently]

Unruly Mob: Printing this has apparently become a tradition for Innistrad blocks

Enduring Angell // Angelic Enforcer:: Pretty neat, but watch out for double strike and non-targeting life loss. Could have probably simplified it by just giving the flip side lifelink but w/e. The front having double strike feels kinda weird.

Contortionist Troupe: When someone says Innistrad, "circust artists" is not among the first fifty things that spring to my mind.

(Some stuff was leaked, but I think I'll pass on commenting on it for now, even if doing just that is not against the rules.)

September 2, 2021 12:02 p.m.

Coward_Token: I love the fact that the flavor text of Unruly Mob evolves with each new trip to the plane.

September 2, 2021 2:55 p.m.

Spoilers today look pretty solid. The head of the zombie commander deck looks fun and werewolves finally got the legendary lord that they needed in Tovolar. I really like that his upkeep effect actually punishes your opponents for flipping your werewolves back into humans. I still would've loved to see him with Naya colors so you could run Rule of Law effects, but overall, werewolves got a very solid legendary to serve as a commander. Seeing a new Arlinn planeswalker is great as well...though her extend art version is really dis-jarring. I get that it's depicting her when she served the church in her past, but idk, it's just odd.

September 2, 2021 3:22 p.m.

Coward_Token says... #47

Beloved Beggar // Generous Soul: This is cute... although the concept of a senior (and homeless?) beggar is pretty sad in hindsight. Anyway, disturb is a neat design, seems reminiscent of Eternalize.

Allied pseudo-Battle Lands: I prefer Fast Lands but these are still a welcome budget alternative.

Jadar: Is decay the token drawback mechanic? Basically Ball Lightning keyworded; kinda odd that it's tied to something that's mainly black-flavored.

Tovolar: Awoo~. More human and less magic-y than I imagined, but I'm not going to complain too loudly. I think we've all seen some variation of this as a custom card before, including the generic tribal rewards, but even though it's not super revolutionary it's liberating to finally see it happen. With the leak of the day/night mechanic I was a little worried they weren't going to introduce backwards compatible support for the old Werewolf cards for EDH, so I'm quite happy to be proven wrong in that. Finally: tribal Kessig Wolf Run.

Sigarda: Kinda unexciting for EDH Human tribal at least.

Secrets of the Key: Lonis, Cryptozoologist is obviously happy about investigate's return, tho honestly I'm kinda confused why Clues need a keyword tied to them anyway (not like we have "cook" or "dig" for its sister tokens).

Brutal Cathar // Moonrage Brute: While it's a bit insulting that one of the beter Werewolves isn't gruul-legal, I do like this design for boros. You dared force night to turn into day? Fuck you, Banisher Priest more of your stuff.

Tavern Ruffian: I mean no offense, but the art seems to feature the least female-coded female human figure yet in Magic, unless there's a key signifier I'm missing. I'd be curious to see if the art description specifically asked for that to be more diversive.

Avacyn's Memorial: Meh, seems overcosted, esp. since it only covers legends.

"Visions" mechanic: I like that this helps make costlier commanders better, even if e.g. Ghalta, Primal Hunger will be smooching of it. Also, Gitrog!

DemonDragonJ says... #48

So many new cards have been revealed in a single day, there is no way that I can comment on all of them!

First, I am very disappointed that the only reference, thus far, to Emrakul’s invasion is the flavor text of Unruly Mob; are we, the audience, seriously supposed to believe that a reality-warping eldritch abomination had no long-term effects upon the plane? Perhaps the lights in the sky that numerous cards depict are remnants of Emrakul’s power?

Why is it necessary to now have a card that indicates day and night? What was wrong with the previous method of operation? Actually, I supposed that it allows for interesting effects beyond werewolves transforming, so that is not too bad, in my mind.

On that subject, why are the inhabitants of Innistrad afraid of longer nights and shorter days? Does that plane not have changing seasons?

I am always excited to have a new cycle of dual lands, but why did WotC choose to start a new cycle, rather than finish an existing cycle? This would have been a perfect opportunity to complete the cycle of “battle lands” (i.e., Canopy Vista, Cinder Glade, etc.), and, on the subject of those lands, these new lands are almost reprints of them, but they instead count all lands, not merely basic lands, in exchange for not having basic land types, so it is nearly an even trade, in my mind.

Tovolar finally has a card, and it seems that he shall be a great general for werewolf EDH decks, which many players have been desiring. I do also like that Arlinn has three different versions, but I hope that at least one legendary creature gets a full-art card, so that planeswalkers do not monopolize that frame style, in this set.

I wish that the new Sigarda was not so human-centric, but her second incarnation focused on humans, so it should not be a surprise that her third incarnation is, as well.

Brutal cathar can be abused with an effect that transforms it, as it can exile a new creature for each time that it transforms, which is definitely awesome.

I do like Avacyn’s Memorial, as a reference to Akroma's Memorial, but the first memorial was a colorless artifact that cost 1 mana less than the angel whom it honored, whereas this memorial has the exact same mana cost as its matron, which I feel is far too strict, as well as the fact that it affects only legendary permanents, so I highly doubt that I shall use it, unless I am desperate.

Candletrap is a very interesting card, and I like how it can incapacitate a creature initially and then dispose of it, later. Unfortunately, I suspect that this card shall become popular in EDH as a way to immobilize a general while making it very difficult for the controller of the creature to liberate it.

I like the visions cycle, but those cards are nothing spectacular, so I shall likely use those cards in my decks only if I cannot find better alternatives.

I am very surprised that it took as long as it did to make a card named "defenestrate," but I certainly like it; it is overshadowed by Infernal Grasp from the same set, but it certainly is far superior to is Walk the Plank.

Finally, curse of obsession gives a reference to Edgar Allen Poe on Innistrad (specifically, the Tell-Tale Heart)! I suppose that Nevermore could be considered as such a reference, but the lack of a raven in the artwork ruined that opportunity.

Dawnheart rejuvenator is nice, but I would rather have Llanowar Visionary for 1 less mana, as that creatures draws a card when it enters the battlefield.

I notice that this set has angels and evils, but no demons, thus far, so I do hope that it has some of those, soon.

Coward_Token says... #49

"Toy Factory": Yes, it provides endless sac fodder with Wilhelt, the Rotcleaver, but that's not very unique and I'm not sure how else to abuse it. Maybe in the future there'll be printed something that makes a bunch of 0/1 defender tokens and this'll be broken.

Geistflame Reservoir: Hrm, not really a fan of impulsive draw that you have to both pay for and play the same turn, and 2 mana is a pretty big amount for that too

"Doomblade Scoundrel": I hope the proposed name is wrong because this is a reference to Greater Werewolf and not what you'd expect.

Curse of Leeches: OK, constant transformation is a neat way of executing the Curse-to-Creature design, even if it's not very exciting for EDH. (Incidentally, you could have combined it pretty well with the design I proposed; it'd grow during the day and come out to attack during at night.)

Consuming Ooze: Progenitor Goyf. That is all. (Jokes aside, I'm glad Oozes are getting a steady amount of support.)

Rite of Harmony: Tweaked Glimpse of Nature that works with tokens! I like this design over e.g. Beast Whisperer (and, even more so, Harmonize).

Gisa, Glorious Ressurector: Oh my. Cheaper than Tergrid  Flip but more volatile. Mind, you don't need to attack with that barely-used Avacyn.

Holy crap Gisa...be still my beating heart! That card is magnificent. Also, Celestus is exactly the kind of werewolf support I expecting from this set. It's a shame that old werewolves won't get the "day/night" errata.
