Commander Collection: Green

The full contents of Commander Collection: Green have been revealed, as seen, here!

The cards are:

Bane of Progress

Command Tower

Freyalise, Llanowar's Fury

Omnath, Locus of Mana

Seedborn Muse

Sol Ring

Sylvan Library

Worldly Tutor

I am slightly displeased at the inclusion of Command Tower and Sol Ring, because they have already been reprinted numerous times, but the new artwork on each of them is very nice, and, perhaps, a foil sol ring will now be affordable!

I also am very pleased that WotC finally reprinted Worldly Tutor, which was long overdue for a reprint, and I imagine that it shall now be far less expensive, and the same can be said for the further reprint of Sylvan Library, which is still expensive, despite having been reprinted several times in recent years.

I also very much like the new artwork on Seedborn Muse, so I shall hope that it is not too expensive, so that I may put it into my decks.

Overall, I am very pleased with this set, and I do hope that it leads to further installments in the Commander Collection series.

What does everyone else say about this? Are you impressed with this set?

I personally am pleased at a foil Command Tower and Sol Ring, last I checked both were ~100 or more USD, and now I think I could pick them up from the premium series. Otherwise it seems really good. I could use another Tutor and Library, and though I sold off some of my Progresses as I never used them, I guess I could go for a cool new art, foil variant just to keep!

I feel Worldly Tutor and Sylvan Library were great hits.

Command Tower and Sol Ring are more than likely getting a reprint in commander ledgends and will have a foil/showcase; it feels like fillers.

The other cards in the collection are good and see play but I really wanted them to showcase green better. Craterhoof Behemoth should of been a part of this :(

Sylvan library and worldly tutor definitely make me want to buy. The bonus to this is that I could very realistically use basically all of this in things I was already planning.

Hoof got a recent reprint, and while that doesn't change card price issues entirely, I think Triumph of the Hordes deserves a reprint more for simple card supply.

That being said the foils of all of these seem great!

Beefcake Behemoth luckily got a reprint in jumpstart and hopefully once they print jumpstart into the ground, beefy should significantly drop in price.

Edit: Looks like synergy made this comment mostly pointless.

Triumph of the Hordes got reprinted in the Mystery boosters. (If that counts)

Command Tower and Sol Ring are obscenely powerful. In many cases, Command Tower is strictly better than an original dual land. They are leagues more powerful than anything like them and have a place in every deck. Due to the demand, if they don't get CONSTANT reprints, the price climbs. Command Tower isn't as problematic, but it is still common for Sol Ring to creep up to $5. I will never be mad about yet another reprint for that duo.

Super hyped for this, but I'm not super hopeful that it'll be all that affordable, given the trend (2XM)

I think they put sol ring and command tower in there so a person new to the format could pick this up without the need to get a precon

In theory these are supposed to be the same price as the spell books, Omniscience_is_life. So about $30.

EleshNornsFs says... #12

With Sylvan Library and Worldly Tutor, no way it's only $30 USD. My guess is more like $50 to $60.

August 24, 2020 10:22 p.m.

Unfortunately, RiotRunner789, I agree with EleshNornsFs; the price is more likely to be in the range of TWO signature spellbooks.

EleshNornsFs says... #14

And Omnath. I didn't realize he had a price tag too.

I really hope there isnt going to be a shortage and price gouging. It'd be reasonable to price these similarly to spell books 20-30 for non-foil and 40-60 for foil. I'm predicting buy outs and people trying to flip them on tcgplayer

Well since wotc stopped with mentioning msrp for their products I guess this will definitely exceed the price of a regular spellbook, because of these power staples. 40-50 dollar/euro at least. As for the cards, I dislike the inclusion of Sol Ring and Command Tower they are printed to death in commander products already, the rest seems good choices for a reprint.

This is pretty amazing...hopefully the other Collections will be as good.

As for the price...c'mon guys - this is Wizards we are talking about.

Expect to pay $60 minimum.

August 25, 2020 7:57 a.m.

Yep. I hope at least I can buy some singles from it for a greatly reduced price once it comes out

August 25, 2020 12:42 p.m.

I'm guessing 80$ minimum

Why not ask your inside source at WOTC how much it will be? Lmao

DeinoStinkus

Are you talking to me? He just made the claim yesterday, and this is my first time saying anything about it. I don’t think I even responded to tag thread at all. Just seen his other comment on this thread and thought it was humorous that he can make bold claims about bannings yet doesn’t know MSRP for products we know are being released.

Daveslab2022 says... #22

I was wrong. He made the claim this morning. It hasn’t even been 12 hours.

Personally, I love the Sol Ring art, but am not really a fan of it and Command Tower's inclusion in the collection. It seems a bit weird for 25% of the "Green" commander product to be colorless.

Daveslab2022 - Wizards stopped using MSRP with War of the Spark.

August 25, 2020 5:16 p.m.

I think Command Tower is an excellent include, it's already $.70 more than it was a few weeks ago when I last ordered one, and I expect it to keep climbing. It just needs constant reprints to stay in the price range that it should be at.

DeinoStinkus and Daveslab2022 if someone is going to lie publicly they should be prepared to be mocked a ridiculed publicly. Don't screw with people you can't handle screwing you back xD

Daveslab2022 is right here, even if you do mean it from a place of compassion.

SynergyBuild I believe DeinoStinkus acquiesced in the end, I think we're all on the same page here.

Omniscience_is_life xD fair!

Dw not upset, I like all of them lol

August 25, 2020 9:32 p.m.

Sad we have to wait so long for this to release though :(

DemonDragonJ says... #29

Omniscience_is_life, I can understand that, and I do not understand why WotC revealed the contents of this set so far in advance of its release date.

My local game store has this product in stock, and I have purchased several single cards from it, but my favorite online vendor, TrollandToad, does not yet have it in stock, so does anyone here know if they shall have it, at all?
