I tinker anyways. I'm constantly brewing 2-3 decks, and I've gotten to the point where I can throw together an entire pre-tuning decklist in 15-30 minutes. It's what my brain does, unless I'm thinking about strategy, or tinkering with something else, or strategy for something else... building video games, building roleplay games, building Living Card Games, building board games, winning at board games, messing with code or hardware, reformatting hard drives for fun....

magwaaf oh, I do D&D as well. I like the Polearm Fighter Eldritch Knight build a lot, and I was pretty close to fully statistically mapping its skillset out. To the point were I could literally pull out a piece of paper and tell you the exact percent chance of me one-turn-killing Monster X.

That was literal "I don't need sleep, I need answers". I stayed up late with a calculator.

my 16 person plus dm party uses pathfinder with 3.5 lol. eldritch knight was trash for decades, good to see it is finally useful.

Eldritch Knight's just there for Thunderwave and minor utility spells.

Polearm Fighter on its own is king of one-on-one -- once you get your first stat upgrade you can take your second feat and be literally unkillable in any 1-on-1 melee situation. Eldritch Knight lets you control hordes and attack from a distance. On top of that, you're dealing the absolute most damage per turn with no spells or abilities used, and with abilities such as Action Surge you can vastly increase damage output.

I just resorted to buying my main Pioneer deck on MTGO.

Quite fun to be able to test it out against real players.
