How did you go from starter deck to competitive deck in Arena?

How did you go from scraping a deck together to play something competitive? What format/deck did you start with and how did you prioritize your decisionmaking?

So, at the beginning, you’re essentially playing Sealed. You’ve got 1-2 bombs in each color, and the person who lands the most bombs will win.

As I started playing tournaments, etc, I tried to adapt my card choices based on what I was seeing (UW control and Rx aggro). When I only had a few wild cards, I’d try to choose the most versatile card for my deck (eg Scarab God, Vraska Contempt, or other universally helpful cards). Lower rarity wildcards should be reserved for role players like Llanowar Elves and Abrades, not for fine-tuning until you can afford it.

Eventually you should be able to scrape together enough wins to tune a list. Hope this helps! Cheers
