Dryad of the Ilysian Grove ... Deck?

Dryad of the Ilysian Grove looks amazing to me! Its Prismatic Omen + more... I love it! Does anyone think that there is a deck to be made with this card using Valakut, the Molten Pinnacle or domain/lands matter spells like Mutilate / Blanchwood Armor ?

Maybe alow for more greedy mana-bases in the format without fearing Blood Moon ?

Or will this find a place in already established Titan-Shift lists?

I think it's too fragile as a creature to see any real competitive play

It dosen't really impress me, because there aren't that many decks that can afford to play a greedy mana base based of of Prismatic Omen effects (to slow to get going, and although it can survive some removal, still pretty vulnerable for somthing your deck depends on to play spells), and the decks that want more lands in play will usally go for Azusa or plain ramp spells. It dosen't synergize very well with ramp spells, because it wants those slots to be extra lands to play each turn for max value, and Azusa simply has the monopoly when it comes to more lands effects.

For Traditional Valakut decks, I think this card will usally disapoint, because you don't usally have enough lands to consistently play 2 a turn. Maybe in a weird variation it could be good, but I woryy that it could warp the deck to much around itself, and just be a worse deck overall.

Funkydiscogod, I disagree that it allows the deck to play off color lands. While the ability of the he creature does, the deck certainly doesn’t want to rely on ANOTHER creature- it already relies heavily on Primeval Titan. Amulet Titan is also consistent enough on its own, and definitely isn’t interested in playing this.

Actually- it’s much simpler than that. Don’t play this dude- he’s simply not worth it.

I think you all make good points... the best case scenario I can from the hip think of is a path to an off-brand/mono green Valakut deck.

Maybe supplemental ramp and cantrips to help the way with Overgrown Battlement and Wall of Blossoms & Carven Caryatid as some filler with Sheltering Word ?

I dont think that this would be any better or more reliable than already established Titan-Shift though.... but its certainly neat to think about!

I honestly was a bit disappointed when I went onto Gatherer looking for Modern relevant domain/lands matter spells.... I had a glimmer of hope with Last Stand with potential for flashback shenanigans but apparently it's too old :/

Very neat thanks for sharing Funkydiscogod... in light of yesterday's bannings I think Titan-Shift may see an increase in play in general.

Another thought that just came to me would maybe be Naya Zoo? Particularly the 1-drop variations using Wild Nacatl , Kird Ape , and Loam Lion with Rancor .

Dryad of the Ilysian Grove might be a nice body and help grow the zoo and perhaps putting in Valakut, the Molten Pinnacle could be easy late game Lightning Bolt to go upstairs/the opponent to finish off that last bit of needed damage?
