So while trying to find a super budget deck to play. I came across the idea for a prison deck. Grindclock is an underplayed rare, so I decided to make a deck around it. The plan is to cantrip and find Grindclock and then you wait till your opponent plays a creature. Use cards like Whisk Away or Oust (Grindclock on two). Use similar effects and then milling them out of the opponents deck. Use Storage Matrix to lock them out. I don't have any win cons in mind so I would love suggestions for this deck, thank you for reading and have a nice day.

props for brewing, but the grindclock is about the most inefficient way to get rid of creatures. it's also just a pretty bad card in general. it's a worse Sphinx's Tutelage. quite honestly I would look into using things like Codex Shredder and Ghoulcaller's Bell in a deck like this. they're way more efficient.

Did you ever hear the tragedy of the Lantern Control deck? I thought not. It's not a story the Deck Builders would tell you. It's a mill legend. Lantern Control was a prison deck, so powerful and so wise it could use mill to win the game... Pilots had such a knowledge of the other deck that they could even mill away all of the opponents' useful spells. A mill deck is a pathway to many abilities some consider to be unnatural. It became so powerful, the only thing a pilot was afraid of was being blamed of drawing out the game, which eventually, of course, he was. Unfortunately, he taught his apprentice everything he knew, then his apprentice called the judge on him in his sleep. It's ironic he could save others from judge calls, but not himself.

It's a really inefficient way to remove creatures, puttingthem on top of library, and then milling them. First, most of the cards then send a creature to top of library have higher casting cost than removal spells. I guess it's to avoid prison decks, that keep making you draw the same, useless card over and over.

Second, if you don't leave the card on top of the library, you might as well just have killed it from the start.

Third, it's a pretty poor lock, since you can't stop your opponent drawing and playing a new creature. Unless you play Lantern of Insight... and a few more mill artifacts like Codex Shredder to get rid of really dangerous cards from the top of library... and maybe Ensnaring Bridge to stop attackers.

I am not sure that Grindclock is going to be protected long enough against aggro build that just keep coming. Even if this deck catches someone by surprise, I see a lot of Thoughtseize and Inquisition of Kozilek decks that would just pluck this put of your hand and leave you with no win con.

I only used the clock in an EDH Mill deck and with Duskmantle Guildmage combo, but could see it being a tough sell in the Whisk and Oust build.
