Would love help on this deck!

Trying to make this modern legal pauper deck work to send a message to the youngsters around my place.

Dont need expensive tier 1 modern decks to compete at fnms. HOPE TO INSPIRE!

Any thoughts, comments, suggestions or just a plus 1 would be great!

Ok, I don't mean to correct a spelling mistake, I will look at the deck, but it's spelled competitive, and compete. Now I do have my doubts this deck will be able to compete vs tier 1-5 modern with no uncommons, rares, or mythics, but it'd be fun to see (especially since it'd be an fnm meta).

UB delver in Modern lacks a few key components that make the Pauper version better: Gush , Foil , Counterspell , Brainstorm , Ponder , Preordain are non-modern legal.

I think that the pauper-legal version is good enough to compete in modern, but cutting the above really hampers the deck to the point where it is no good.

You should look into which deck in pauper has the least non-modern legal cards. The answers to this are few - Burn and Bogles are the first that come to mind, where you only really lose a few cards ( Chain Lightning and Fireblast for burn, Ancestral Mask and Armadillo Cloak for Bogles).

It is a noble effort and Delver is a good place to start, as it is the one of the most powerful commons in the format, but there are so many good blue cards you cannot play...

Demarge no worries, im grateful! Thanks for pointing out such a silly mistake on my part :)

It will be very hard to compete indeed. But I am a veteran pilot of delver and hopefully with a well tuned deck, some luck and good outplays i can get it done :)

Boza yeah, the loss of pauper staples hurt a ton. And with them pauper can 100% compete. But thats the fun of trying this out. Hopefully i can build something decent enough to be taken to victory with a potent user.

A friend is working on pauper burn, and well. Burn is burn no matter what hahaha. Im deffinately gonna keep trying to build the best variant of this i can to bring.

After looking at the deck (left suggestions there) you could probably tune the deck to some prize support if the fnm meta is small enough (I have to pull myself away from some deck suggestion filled comments Complete Disregard came up as I'm typing this to fight phoenix and many of the recurring creatures in the top end of the format).

Now it could be extra fun to switch week to week between the pauper and budget-less versions of the deck, keep your meta guessing by using the same sleeves.

The list overall feels weak. In order to make it, you are eschewing what makes a Delve(r) deck in Modern good, while also being unable to include what makes the same deck good in Pauper. So, it ends up not being made for any format.

You are more likely to have success with a UR build. You can leverage the 8 faerie package of Faerie Miscreant and Spellstutter Sprite , while also including burn options, including the new Skewer the Critics since flying fae enable it easily. You have the same options, but there are many powerful commons in red. Heck, if you have the money for it, you can even run Skred and snow basics too.

I now realize I forgot to add Daze to the above list, and I also forgot the Chainer's Edict from black that is also unavailable.

There's one big problem you will never be able to fix in Modern--your lands. Lands that enter the battlefield tapped (or effectively tapped, like Evolving Wilds , are death knells in a hyper-fast paced environment. This is particularly true for Modern Delver of Secrets  Flip, as you really want to drop your Delver turn 1 and swing turn 2.

I think you should remove the "commons only" restriction for your lands In the spirit of being budget friendly, Underground River and (the slightly more difficult use) River of Tears are both inexpensive options.

Boza i can def see what ur coming at, maybe i have fallen into the trap of trying to do both modern delver and pauper delver at once. Ill try to work ok a mire focused list.

I originally had a ur version but the mana hurt, having a red hand with blue mana made games frustrating.

Think the faery lackage is good in mono u or Ub?

cdkime ur absolutely right, it will be and is the number one bane of the deck. I have kind of worked around it being mostly 1 drop tribal enabling t1 plays most of the time and being 95% ish blue to keep it consistent. It does hurt a little but hey! Atleast it fueles delve!
