What if WotC Skipped the Battle Against the Eldrazi?

Some players, including myself, were displeased that the defeat of the original dragonlords on Tarkir was not shown directly in the story, and that the story skipped ahead to after the clans had re-established themselves, but some other players liked that decision, since they felt that it would have been a waste of time to tell the story of the defeat of the dragonlords in detail and they preferred to focus on the re-emergence of the khans. WotC themselves said that they learned that lesson from Battle for Zendikar, since players missed the adventure world of the original Zendikar block during the return to the plane of Zendikar, but the original Zendikar block ended with the emergence of the Eldrazi, so there was no way to avoid the battle against them, since it would have been very poor storytelling to skip the battle against them, in my mind.

What does everyone else say, about this? Should WotC have skipped the battle against the Eldrazi and simply pretended that it never occurred, or was it better to show the battle in detail? I certainly am very interested to hear your opinions, on this matter.

If we skipped the battle I wouldn't have to fight against them...

Personally id have been fiiiine with it. Nothing jams mu day more then a surprise Emrakul, the Aeons Torn or Ulamog, the Infinite Gyre.

Though, I am team Dragonlords. I too was upset to see it skipped over, giving the Dragonlords a single printing in almost all respects.

Tbh, the way I would've handled Zendikar is by making them search for some artifact(s) in Zendikar's ruins powerful enough to defeat the Eldrazi. That way, you still address the lingering plot thread, but you do so in a way that focuses on the adventure world element.
