Surrakar, what are they and do they pop up in MTG Lore outside of the cards?

I was messing around on Gatherer recently and I encountered a creature type I haven't stumbled upon before; Surrakar. There are only four cards with this creature type written out and they were all only printed in the original Zendikar block. They seem to have disappeared from reappearing in the newer Zendikar sets, so I was really wondering what they are.

Cards:

Shoreline Salvager

Surrakar Banisher

Surrakar Marauder

Surrakar Spellblade

Do they ever appear in lore or the stories? I would like to know more.

They're basically moderately intelligent reptile people with some skill with weapons and magic. There's not a lot known about them, but they might have some level of societal culture.

Or, you know, they might be near omnipotent and omniscient beings who only tolerate humans because they find them entertaining. Or they might be the true owners of WotC. Nobody really knows.
