I am very sad that Elspeth and Gideon never met, since they had much in common; both were knights/soldiers dedicated to justice and helping others, both visited Theros and the Bant shard of Alara, and both had very tragic deaths, and I personal feel that they would have been a great couple.

What does everyone else say about this? Are you sad that Elspeth and Gideon never met?

Well if you are being technical about it they are both dead on Theros in their version of the afterlife at the moment, so we could potentially get to see them both in the Theros set coming up.

I wouldn’t get your hopes up though since they sort of gave Gideon his farewell stuff on Ravnica and with the Gideon spellbook, so I don’t think we will see any new cards for him in Theros.

I just find it funny how no one liked Gideon until he died.

Facts aside though, while it would have been interesting I feel like it would have been a little confusing for the sake of novels as it would be hard to tell which is which without constant “Gideon said” and “elspeth said” they both have the same clothing and attitudes, only difference is gender besides the minor story details like elspeth getting impaled by a god.

Elspeth is in the underworld, where she can potentially, {probably} escape. Gideon is Thero's version of Elysium. There is no coming back for him.

I'm glad they never met. I loved them both, still do. Both in my top 5 walkers, but, as mentioned, they are too similar. The story would have been stale.

Elspeth and Gideon would make Super-Planeswalker babies. Spoiler Alert They'd never move past missionary.
