I'm bored of Modern

Legacy forum

Long story short, I'm a bit bored of modern right now. Which brings me to Legacy. Which brings me to my question. What are some COMBO legacy decks that are fun? I don't care about the price. And please don't say Elves or Manaless Dredge, because I know them and am not a fan of them. So shoot out some ideas. Thanks guys :)

Depends how you define 'combo.'

There's Ad Nauseam, and technically Show and Tell could be considered combo.

Fair enough. Let's say a Johnny deck. A deck that uses synergy between two or more cards as the principle win condition, or part of the principle win condition.

Food Griffin Master Race!

Oh yeah, another condition. No infinites.

Sorry I'm picky guys :)

Goddamn it then, Nic Fit?

So, let's see:

You want a non-infinite combo deck that can also win at a competitive level, but you don't want any of the pre-existing archetypes, because Pssh.

Good luck, man.

Yep, pretty much :)

omnitell decks are the most popular combo right now, but there are also Reanimator, Belcher, Enchantress, Titan Post, High Tide, Painter, and Aluren. All competitive. I like imperial painter decks, they are expensive with the Imperial Recruiter set so that could be good if budget isn't a factor like you said. I think Enchantress decks are cool as well because i love drawing multiple cards on a turn and playing hate cards.

Umm.. I guess there is ANT, Omni-Tell, Sneak-and-Show, Aluren(but that's infinite). I guess Oops All Spells might be up your alley. Reanimator also exists, along with the Worldgorger variant.

Lands is another deck. It runs the Thespian's Stage and Dark Depths deal. Maverick and other Life from the Loam decks will play this combo too.

May 7, 2015 10:36 p.m.

Ok, I know some of those, you guys mind explaining what Aluren and Belcher are?

High-tide, some form of Painter and Belcher also all exist.

Play Aluren. It's a super legit deck. Very expensive, but you get so many free wins out of it. I played against it with burn at the open that I went to a few months back, and the only reason I was able to beat it was because he didn't have a counterspell game one, and I played trickily with the stack game two to where his creatures were entering and triggering their abilities, and I burned them away in between all of their triggers.

But if you learn to play the deck well enough, it's very fun.

Aluren is a deck that uses its namesake card and Parasitic Strix and Cavern Harpy plus value creatures to kill the opponent. Belcher is a mostly landless deck trying to cast Goblin Charbelcher and use it to win.

I have to agree with ThatJunkMage, play Aluren. That deck is seriously sweet. It kinda reminds me of Shardless BUG, but with a sick combo in it.

TES/ANT is one of the best, and hardest decks to play in Legacy. Food Chain, High Tide, Painter's Servant/Grindstone, Leyline of the Void and an artifact I can't recall that mills cards, Nic Fit, Tin Fins, Reanimator, Show and Tell, Dragon Stompy, and a few others come to mind...

May 7, 2015 10:50 p.m.

12 Post is combo esque that's a blast to play. Dark Depths and Thespian's Stage, Prime Time, and Eldrazi.

Helm of Obedience

is the card that goes with Leyline of the Void // Rest in Peace

There are two kinds of combo decks in legacy. Storm and crappy ones. You can play: TES, ANT, DDFT, High Tide, Dark Tide, Burning ANT, TNT, Belcher, SI/PSI and Tin Fins. Those are all storm decks although only TES and ANT are top tier. If you want more of a break down r/mtglegacy has a good one and I can answer questions as well.

The non storm combo decks in legacy are Sneak and Show, Omnitell, Painter, UWR RIP/Helm, Dredge, Elves, Combo MUD, Reanimator, and Enchantress. Omnitell, Sneak and Show, Elves and Dredge are the best placing decks here.

Do you hate people? Sword of the Meek + Thopter Foundry is fun. Add in like top, Counterbalance, maybe Stifle (which begs to have a miser Phyrexian Dreadnought!) and it's good times.

i'm not a fan of it, but enchantress.

omnitell is my combo deck of choice

tinfins, reanimator, aluren oops all spells, manaless dredge, elves, show and tell, storm, food chain, painter servant, char belcher, 12 post, high tide, ... you have lots of options.

Skipping over the thread, too much to read and I'm a tad tired. However, I'm throwing in a plug for Doomsday, Shelldock Isle into Emrakul, the Aeons Torn makes me want to laugh so hard I may just pop a lung.
