My friends and I are trying to draft some of the new sets that come out, or just play a good game of commander, or do anything at all. Unfortunately, our schedules are... less than ideal.

Does anybody have some tips or tricks for possibly helping these schedules align?

I have a small group of about 5 or 6 guys that has the same problem. Jobs and families tend to take up a majority of of our time.

To accommodate I created a facebook messenger group that we are all on. I suggest dates for things that are usually more than a week off so we can all can plan ahead. Sometimes that doesn't work though cuz some of the guys won't know their work schedules until the week of.

Best you can do is ask what everyones schedule looks like for the week and get together on the day the most people are available. Some people will probably miss out from time to time but they will understand, its not out of spite, simply availability.

Every once in a blue moon the planets align and everyone can make it. Just enjoy playing with whoever can make when it doesn't work out though.

I second the Messenger group. My small playgroup has a whatsapp group chat and it's helped greatly. Even though there's plenty of times where one person misses out, they at least are in the loop and don't find out either during or after and feel left out. It already sucks missing the meet up!
"Adulting," is time consuming, and the two in the group I enjoy playing with the most and myself have just been playing more often on MTGO as our in person availability has gone down.
