Should I Replace PtE and StP with Angelic Ascension?

I have Path to Exile or Swords to Plowshares in many of my decks, because they are such amazing cards, but Core Set 2021 is introducing angelic ascension, which, for only 1 more mana, can also exile planeswalkers, so I am contemplating if I should replace the old cards with the new one.

1 mana could make a difference, but, given how prevalent planeswalkers now are, being able to exile them unconditionally is very powerful, so I would like to believe that the spell is worth the additional mana.

What does everyone else say about this? Should I replace Path to Exile and Swords to Plowshares with angelic ascension?

no... just add the other one too, the others don't give them a 4/4 flyer

I mean, probably not? Like one mana more is still a huge difference and unless your opponenets are running a ton of walkers, a land or some life is easier to deal with than a 4/4 angel.

dbpunk, yes, that is a good point; in the majority of the games that I have played, planeswalkers are not nearly as prevalent as are creatures, so, perhaps, I can keep the existing cards in my decks.

It is my belief that Ascension is a very bad Magic card. It gives your opponent a free Angel after they’ve already activated their Planeswalker, and also effectively requires you to have a second removal spell for the Angel.

Dredge4life it's format dependent. It's a very good card in EDH where a 4/4 flyer with no abilities is hardly a threat. Being able to permanently deal with actual problem creatures and planeswalkers for 2 mana at instant speed is really powerful.

DemonDragonJ if we're talking EDH, then AA is a solid removal spell that would do well in accompaniment of both Path and Swords. That being said, I think it has the potential be better than Path; that extra land is a bigger boon than most people realize. But Swords is definitely superior otherwise. If we're talking any other format, then no.

fulcrum, that makes sense; I will keep the existing cards for my normal decks, but, perhaps, I could put AA in some of my EDH decks.

I could see AA as a 1-2 of in SB in White Weenie-esque strategies. In an aggressive deck, you'd rather your opponent didn't have repeatable removal, even if they can end up blocking each turn with an angel. Typically a walker is better at stabilizing a board state against creature based aggro than a single 4/4 is, but it does depend on the walker.
