Just getting peoples thoughts on the lieklyhood of playing Slivers in the Pre-release.
What slivers would you require to open for you to bother with trying to make a sliver based deck?
What slivers would you run even if you have no other slivers in your deck?
What non-sliver cards should people be looking for that would help support slivers, and possibly make them playable?
Are you just not going to bother playing slivers, no matter what... (to easy to defeat... to much hate... already have an idea you want to make work... etc)?
I'm using the site http://www.svenskamagic.com/cardcollection/index.php?exp=Magic%202014 (click "Oppena en sealed pool" below the M14 pack image.) to open a few sample sealed packs, and see what type of things I should be looking for come the prerelease.
A Manaweft, Megantic, Bonescythe, or Thorncaster Sliver would make me seriously consider a sliver deck. Any two would probably make it certain.
Predatory, Megantic, Galerider, Striking, Blur, Steelform, and Sentinel can all be played on their own if you have no better option. Manaweft, Bonescythe, Battle, and Groundshaker can fit in certain decks, but are less general. Hive Stirrings can actually be played as an ok card, since there are few other token generators in M14.
Door of Destinies helps significantly. Brave the elements, Fortify, Indestructibility, Silence, Fog, Ranger's Guile, Trollhide for protecting your sliversCelestial Flare, Pacifism, Act of Treason, Flames of the Firebrand, Seismic Stomp, Shock, Vial of Poison for creature removal/getting past enemiesInto the Wilds, Lay of the Land, Verdant Haven, Darksteel Ingot, Shimmering Grotto for mana ramp/ fixing.
And of Course Mutavault, because ... its Mutavault.
If I can get the right cards, I'll play slivers, but it depends on what I pull.

Well you need to look at them from a limited perspective:
Galerider Sliver is a 1/1 flyer for 1, an acceptably good pick.
Manaweft Sliver is a 1/1 that can mana fix your deck for two, an ideal pick for a green deck that wants to splash into another colour.
Predatory Sliver is a 2/2 for 2, an acceptable bear.
Megantic Sliver is a 6/6 for 6, that's okay, but unless you have a lot of other slivers, you might want to pass on this guy.
Thorncaster Sliver doesn't do much by itself
Bonescythe Sliver is a 2/2 double strike for 4, pretty good, especially if you Giant Growth it.
Syphon Sliver is a 2/2 lifelink for 3, lifelink is a strong ability and i would consider this.
Blur Sliver 2/2 haste for three, is ok, not spectacular.
Battle Sliver 5/3 for 5, not bad, not great.
Steelform Sliver is a 2/3 for 3, i wouldnt choose this one, unless i had a good sliver list already.
Groundshaker Sliver is a 5/5 trample, not a bad choice, although there are better picks.
Striking Sliver is a 1/1 firststrike for 1, pretty good, not as good as galerider.

If your wanting to run slivers at the prerelease, your gonna want to run naya. Blue and black only got 1 sliver apiece I believe. To help with it you want some pump, burn, and stuff that gives your guys other abilities like first strike, trample, etc.
