I always think its interesting to see how far I've come in the game of magic. So i always like to go back and look at my first deck, and all I can think is "what was i thinking". I thought it would be fun to see other peoples embarrassing first decks. Here is mine. My first Deck

The first deck I ever built? With my own two hands? Or the first deck I played?

Age prohibits me from doing so. So long ago...

The first deck I ever built was Mono white prison, which I built after playing for a few weeks using one of my friend's standard decks. I don't have the exact list, but the standard list was a dralnu-teachings deck.

First deck that i made in real life was an old U/G token deck, which was based entirely around Fable of Wolf and Owl , made out of a bunch of cards my friend just gave me. It was utter crud, but an idea i'd love to go back and redo with the skill level i have now. The first deck i tossed up on here was a Bant Exalted deck i thought i was going to make, then i made my doran and now my current goal is Boros. I will never win.I walk alone

I don't have it on here but the first deck I ever built was budget Mono White Weenies. It's pretty bad when you have to take the budget route with Weenies. The main engines of the deck were Elder Cathar and Gather the Townsfolk .

I don't have mine.

It was 4x Invisible Stalker , 4x Tandem Lookout , 4x Giant Growth or it might have been Titanic Growth - I forget noow. There were some other cards but that's the bulk of it. It was bad.

I've only started playing recently, so this is an easy one. I raced out and bought a bunch of packs and put together a bunch of cards that I thought looked cool. My first deck was Wicked White, but it didn't work very well. Once I understood the mechnanics more, I hacked the deck down and reshaped it into Wicked White Lean.

I just made this for fun because I really liked the combo and wanted to see how much it would cost.

My VERY first deck isn't on TappedOut but it was a black white humans deck when Scars and Dark Ascension were in standard. Really bad deck, but fun to play.

The first deck I prized with was a Mono-Black Deck during the same time period. It had removal, big creatures, and the star of the show was Wurmcoil Engine and his minions Massacre Wurm !

My first deck on TappedOut was

Do not still have it. But it was a budget W/G tokens deck standard legal during INS/RTR. It actually wasnt all that terrible, it ran pretty well for what it was. Now my VERY first deck, one which never had hopes of reaching tappedout, was a mono black big stompy things deck (yes you heard me right, mono black not green) based around the all powerful Renegade Demon . It was bad.

@8vomit: To be honest, it's not that bad. I've been going through what people have been posting and I'm almost embarrassed by what I made bwahahahaha!

well I had help making it from 2 of my buddies that had been playing for a while.

February 7, 2014 9:29 a.m.

Definitely been way too long to remember fully(over 11-12 years), but I do know it was mono red burn.

February 7, 2014 9:31 a.m.

Mine was similar, williamgp99!! It was an "infinite" combo deck that ran off of Mindslaver and Prototype Portal , called

.

alot of these are a whole lot better than the one I built. My friend that introduced me to magic had only been playing a year. And as a present one time we went to the card shop and he bought me Kresh the Bloodbraided as my first legend. That set me up for about six months of trying to build a playable budget kresh deck with only a few months of magic knowledge.

My first deck consisted of nothing but spirits and draw power. The entire deck was based around Thief of Hope . I'd gain massive amounts of life, and be draining my opponent in return. For a first deck I was proud of it. This was not the first deck I owned, but it was the first one I built on my own. My first actual deck was one of the onslaught pre-made decks.

@The_Wizard: lol right? And we didn't have any fancy-pants Ulamog, the Infinite Gyre s and Burning-Tree Emissary , we had REAL creatures, like Nekrataal and Mogg Flunkies !

Hey, sylvannos, I still play that in cube all day. Also DAMAGE WENT ON THE STACK!!! I had a deck built around that.
