IDK, rituals are good in cEDH decks like Godo, but a bit unreliable otherwise. I personally like my ramp to stick around, and these days we have enough rocks that even mono R/W have enough. Rituals like Mana Geyser and Battle Hymn are the best because they provide game-winning amounts of mana when set up right, but generally the card disadvantage is prohibitive for this kind of card. I will say that having it be modal helps... but who's ever going to use the pump effect, really?

Mcat1999 I wouldn't say it's significantly better for Melek, Izzet Paragon since the mana being generated can only be spent on creatures and enchantments (typically Melek decks are lighter on creatures at least)

Yes, this card effectively says:
Cast for , add 2 mana of one color, then 2 mana of a different color (ex. ,) but only use the mana to cost a creature or enchantment spell.
So it's a decent piece of mana acceleration and fixing for a common instant speed spell.
