LGS has Japanese Dark Ascension Packs

So just to start off, this is a bit of an odd question.

So, as you saw in the title, my LGS has Japanese Dark Ascension booster packs for sell (at the normal booster price too I believe). This leads me into the question: Do you guys think that I should get any of them? I go back and forth since Japanese would be interesting to have, but since I'm a bit of a newer player I've never actually gotten any Dark Ascension cards.

I'm looking forward to hearing your thoughts!

I say go for it. You have a chance to acquire some cool staple cards, regardless of whatever format you normally play (unless you're exclusive to Standard of course). Dark Ascension wasn't a bad set at all and you can get a lot of interesting cards to expand your collection. On top of that, the set is in Japanese which would be a no brainer for me at least because I personally collect as many Japanese prints as I can.

If they are going for normal booster prices, scoop them up quick. Let me know how your pulls go, I'm looking forward to hearing back about it! Best of luck to you!

TCGplayer sells Dark Ascension engilsh packs at 5.95 a pop, so if the store is selling them for 4 dollars you maaaaybe able to call it a profit. Harder to find Japanese Ascension listings but I didn't dig to far. Be that is it may all comes down to if you like the set and like Japanese cards. At 4 bucks I could see my-self opening 1 or 2 on a whim digging for some cool lookings foils or some stuff. Don't expect anything to wild tho.

I think I'll definitely open 1 or 2 now (let's hope for a Sorin, fingers crossed!). Japanese would be cool to collect, and I play casual modern/EDH so legality isn't an issue. Besides, looking at the set list it looks like it has some cool cards.

I'll definitely let you know if I pull anything interesting DiverDown!

I don't think that will be a problem TypicalTimmy, I'm not planning on selling to foreign markets (I am only in high school, LOL).

Honestly if you can, I say go for it. It's rare enough for an LGS to have older packs or foreign packs, much less older foreign packs. In addition, Dark Ascension had some great cards.

That said, if you're gonna use the cards (for example in an edh deck) make sure you have a good card search app for translation purposes. Specifically one where you can get the image up easily.

So I was able to visit my LGS earlier this evening and get 2 packs, this is what I got (you would be interested in this DiverDown):

Overall opening this pack was pretty cool. It was suspenseful too since I didn't know what most of the cards were (I did recognize a few by art).
