If you could make it so any one card never existed what would it be?

Title says it all. What card would you erase from mtg history?

If it were up to WOTC obviously it would be Invoke Prejudice

I had to think about this a lot, and I'm not sure this is my final answer, but I think we can all agree if Eldraine never included Oko, Thief of Crowns, nobody would be any worse off.

I'm not sure if wotc would get rid of invoke P or just give it art that doesn't look like the klu klux klan

Psychatog

Standard, block, extended.... so much of that damn psychatog

I try to not think about them at all, so I don’t know if I’ll be able to pick one specific one that’s worse than others... but planeswalkers would be it for me. They changed the game in a truly fundamental way and I’m not a fan.

Island. Get rid of one whole color.

Ok that's a joke.

In all seriousness though, I would probably go with Mishra's Workshop.

I am putting all controversies aside from art or artists. I feel like this one card set the precedent for the urza la ds like Gaea's Cradle.

FormOverFunction I started playing around rise of eldrazi so I don't know what it was like before them but I wouldn't complain if they didn't exsist

shadow63 - the cards are made accurately, to be completely fair. We, as players, have always BEEN the planeswalkers... and having a planeswalker on the field really is like having a partner who casts a spell each turn. So I guess they’ve got that going for them. But playing two-headed giant is different from playing regular games, and I don’t like springing that sort of change on a player. It’s all sour grapes / old curmudgeon carping, so it should be taken with a grain of salt, but I really loved magic a lot more before that paradigm shift. Having said all of that: all-in-all it’s still the only card game I want to play. Just get off my lawn. ;p

Maybe it's just because it's fresh in mind, but I could really do without Ragavan, Nimble Pilferer I took a break on MTGO largely because I just got sick of running into samey decks, and Ragavan fixing mana seems like it has a lot to do with it. And he's just the most, does too much, card. The exile ability seems so tacked on and I forget about it sometimes and then there's that feeling kind of like Questing Beast where, oh yeah it does everything it's doing and like two other things too.

To list a relatively recent card that's not an overpowered Mythic, Mystic Sanctuary is the Thing That Should Not Be. I think the play pattern (especially in fetchland formats) of keeping the game state in a stall as you cast the same spell over and over is as unfun as any repetitive board state that gets you a slow play warning. Before Sanctuary got banned in Modern my feeling was that either it goes or Cryptic Command goes, because if locked up board states are unfun enough for Mycosynth Lattice to be banned, than the Sanctuary/Cryptic lock is equally bad.

But that's just like, my opinion, man.

SpammyV mystic is a great pick. Not only is it way overpowered, but it is so much better than the other lands in the cycle. The fact that it's supposed to be equivalent to Dwarven Mine means that somebody didn't understand a few things here : )

Knowledge pool. Even without it's interaction with Teferi, Mage of Zhalfir, it's bad manners, designed just to irritate other player.

Definitely Blood Moon.

9-lives - Blood Moon, Magus of the Moon, and Chalice of the Void are all cards that are great to keep existing because they keep unfair and greedy decks in-check. Decks playing fairly/reasonably have nothing to worry about from these cards. If they didn’t exist, every format would be waay more degenerate than it is currently.

Blood Moon, and Magus of the Moon in particular are great cards that semi-budget decks can build around to have a fighting-chance versus some of the $1000+ monsters
