Has Anyone Seen Mcat1999?

General forum

Recently I was checking my friends/followers list and realized Mcat1999 was no longer in my friends or followers list. Confused I searched up one of his decks, and also one of his forum discussions. I got the error 404 page on both. He also has not shown up on any discussions or posts recently. Does anyone know what is going on?

He blocked me so I can't look him up lol

Yeah I didn't do anything to offend him, so I am not sure why he would do that, or if he in fact blocked me.

I believe he was dissatisfied with the forum in general. Last week, he had said he was considering requesting an account delete and gave himself a week to decide. I assume he decided to leave.

It would appear they had their account deleted - they made a few comments in the days leading up to the deletion about wanting to leave TappedOut, so it looks like they followed through on that notion.

They had an announcement on their profile page.

MagicMarc do you happen to remember the gist of that announcement? As I mentioned above, Mcat blocked me and thus I couldn't visit his page :/

Omniscience_is_life - Essentially they felt that they received undue criticism and were not listened to. That first part likely stemmed from their pertinence for posting custom cards, then getting visibly upset when other players tried to offer friendly constructive criticism. The latter complaint likely stemmed from individuals dismissing their rather poorly-informed political rants (one of their other "I am leaving" posts was a trademarked Mcat1999 twelve-paragraph political rant--specifically some nonsense about "the libs" ruining TappedOut).

Caerwyn Ah, I see. Sounds about right. Thanks for the sum-up

That's kind of my take as well. I missed the rants but noticed that they got a little touchy when people offered advice or opinions in the custom card creation forums.

I have to say that people seem to have pretty thin skin about custom cards in general on the site. (Probably typical everywhere). Especially over power levels versus costs. I sometimes try to contribute on those forums but find it frustrating in general. I think people see their custom cards in a vacuum and do not consider the card pool they would be joining.

MagicMarc some users aren't after cristism, they want validation and attention - which is depressing; this community can definitely help players obtain a better understanding of the game and social constructs surrounding the game.
