Imoti in a Miirym deck

Deck Help forum

I'm in the process of building a Miirym, Sentinel Wyrm deck, but I'd like some advice. Does Imoti, Celebrant of Bounty fit in, or does it just waste a spot another dragon could take? My thought is that that you cast a 6 cmc card like Niv-Mizzet, Parun copy it, cascade into Something like Rapacious Dragon, copy it, and cascade into something like Dragonborn Champion and copy it. 6 dragons for 6 mana in a dream scenario. But is Imoti reliable enough for the deck, or is she better replaced with another copyable dragon?

TypicalTimmy, you seem to have Miirym down pretty well. What are your thoughts?

Well, Niv is copied upon ETB, not cast.

So Niv sits on the stack while you Cascade into one of the others.

I actually added Maelstrom Wanderer during my last upgrade to test the waters with it. But your idea likely is a bit more stable.

I was actually thinking of adding Kruphix, God of Horizons to hold onto the mana from Savage Ventmaw and Klauth, Unrivaled Ancient as well as just generally pooling unused mana. Even considered Kinnan, Bonder Prodigy to bypass the whole draw, cast and mana issues. Getting 7+ mana is easy. Getting something to use it on? Eh not so much.

I also just realized that that's a lot of damage with Warstorm Surge. Plus the damage from Dragonborn champion, if I'm not mistaken.

Oh, nevermind. I was thinking of a different card. Whoops.

I’d say it is worth testing out at least. It is highly dependent on how many 6+ spells you run that can trigger the cascade.

I don’t think it will be a massively good card because it is likely to hit mana rocks and other spells besides your dragons, but in those games when it does hit the dragons I think you can get some explosive turns.
