Deck Help forum

Working on a BUG Simic Golgari deck for FNM play. Somewhat halfway in between aggro and tempo. I find that most of the matches i play against basic 3 color midrange decks, it kills them, but loses every time to aggro. Also got demolished by 4 color reanimator last night. Any sideboard/maindeck suggestions?

I'm not familiar with the BG cards, but I know that Cloudfin Raptor is a pretty solid little dude. The Evolve on him pays off over time and if you're running into problems against aggro, he's a great way of holding them off several turns. Experiment One also helps out because after 2 evolves, he can regen, forcing them to commit more cards to stopping him.

I don't see many ways of stopping Boros decks with BUG though, except for Killing Wave or multiple Tragic Slip s.

Posting the deck here will go a long way to getting help. Are you a base green deck? Base blue? Base black? If you are base green, cards like Experiment One and Wolfir Avenger are all solid. If you are base blue, Cloudfin Raptor is a great creature and you may want to fit in some bounce like Simic Charm to buy into the late game. If you are base black, Vampire Nighthawk is your best friend. Removal like Devour Flesh and Tragic Slip are really good as well.

The thing about bug that no one seems to realize is that there are no standalone allstars like Huntmaster of the Fells  Flip so you really have to focus on capitalizing on the synergy between the colors. BUG offers you cheap yet resilient creatures that grow bigger as the game goes on while at the same time holding back what your opponent is doing.
