Custom Cards forum

A Dungeons & Dragons book several years ago featured a monster known as a necronaut, and I wish to make that monster into a creature in this game.

For a better understanding of this being, a necronaut is a massive and terrifying creature that is composed of numerous corpses piled together in a haphazard and nightmarish fashion, with the ability assimilate additional corpses into itself and gain whatever abilities those creatures possessed in life. Therefore, here is my creation:

Necronaut Show

What does everyone think of this card? I deliberately gave it low power and toughness because, ideally, there shall be plenty of creatures for it to exile by the time that its owner can afford to spend seven mana to summon it, so it will not be too weak when it enters the battlefield. I gave it trample and menace because its monstrous size and fearsome appearance will definitely make it very terrifying, and I gave it protection from white and green because the ability to absorb corpses and gain their abilities is as black as an ability can be in this game.

What does everyone else think of this card? Did I do well with it?

I like it. Seems a bit strong in edh. But not game breaking strong

im not sure how having the ability to absorb corpses translates to protection from white and green. but why make a custom card to begin with? does your playgroup allow that sort of thing?

isn't Necrotic Ooze most of this thing already? I feel like this is overdesigned - 3 keywords, 2 different exile+counter effects, activated abilities + can use any mana for those. A bit much.

Cut the keywords and the can use mana as though it was any color at least.

This will get you a combination of Ravenous Slime and Necrotic Ooze , which sounds really cool and BG might be the correct colors for this card.
