I think that Reckless Assault is an excellent and under-appreciated card, but it is rather expensive for what its effect, so I have created a new version that is slightly less expensive, as seen, here:
Fireblood Invocation Show
I reduced the casting cost by 1 mana and the cost of the activated ability by 1 life, which I hope has not made this new enchantment too powerful.
I also have created a creature version of the original enchantment, as seen, here:
Fireblood Invoker Show
I made a creature version of reckelss assault, as I am very fond of creatures, and also feel that the original enchantment simply did not do enough, on its own; I contemplated giving the creature lifelink, to provide life for its ability, but I decided that that likely would have made it too powerful.
What does everyone else say, about these cards? Do you believe that I did a good job, with them? I would certainly appreciate any feedback that anyone here has to offer.

I feel like the 2:1 trade of life for damage is an important ratio to stick with, regardless of CMC or activation cost. Both black and red, in my mind, share the reckless and self-destructive nature that re-enforces the idea that in order to get what you want out, you have to pay extra in. If anything goes unchanged I would vote it would be the 2:1 ratio.

FormOverFunction, that makes sense, which is why I kept that ratio for the creature version of the enchantment, but are you saying that I should keep that ratio for a less expensive enchantment, as well?
legendofa, the player shall still require red and black mana to cast the spell, so I feel that paying colorless mana for the ability should be acceptable.

DemonDragonJ I'm being a little cautious, as-is it feels to me like a kind of pushed Modern Horizons rare. My reasoning is that this kind of locks it into and makes it less useful in 3+ colors. It could be printed as is, I think, but it's definitely in the upper power ranks.

DemonDragonJ my initial knee-jerk reaction is to keep the ratio for both… but with more thought, specifically about the fact that creatures are easier to remove than enchantments, maybe a lower cost is justifiable. I’m kind of hung up on the ease of getting into a “spend a life, spend a colorless, kill a creature, then gain a life because a creature died” scenario. Paying two life makes it a little harder to stabilize that way. Obviously, there are a ton of Blood Artist effects that can easily make it a net positive… but I feel like both black and red need to maintain a higher-threshold of riskiness than that. I agree that as-is it would fit just fine, no change needed. I feel like it would stand out as less overpowered to a bitter vet like me, though, with a 2 life cost ;p

FormOverFunction, that makes perfect sense, given that life is a resource that is very easy to renew.

Maybe make the mana cost of the enchantment's activated ability instead of as a limiter on utility, rather than power.
