Underrated Budget Gem!

My favorite pet card, although I have many, is probably Realmwright. In budget builds, it's a godsend, fixing your mana, and making most of your untapped lands duals. But on EDHREC, it's only in 405 decks. Does anyone know why?

True. I'm sure that there are some more good cards from Gatecrash that people don't play because it's such an underpowered set.

I think there's just not enough blue decks that need fixing in that way. It's often better to play a signet or talisman, which fixes your mana almost as well, is less likely to get killed early, and ramps you.

I know I've used the card, but I always end up cutting it for cards that are so much better. It's just sadly underwhelming and easy to destroy.

Would be good with cards that care about land types like Nissa, Who Shakes the World, High Tide, and Emeria Shepherd.

I think it's not an many decks because it's not ramp. And it's bad color fixing. Most ramp will fix your colors so for those reasons it's not great. It's not bad either.

griffstick: True, but at under 40 cents, there aren't many cards that can color fix you for that amount of mana, at least that I know of.

DeinoStinkus: That's a great idea! With cards like Dread Presence, Valakut, the Molten Pinnacle for burn and card draw, and Sylvan Advocate and The Gitrog Monster for beatdown, that actually seems like a legitimate deck!

I think one of my favorite budget cards has to be Manifold Key. I have actually won games by using it to make enemies creatures unblockable, they kill my opponent then I finish them off. Also early game turning Sol Ring into 3 mana is fun too.

Recently Far Wanderings and Khalni Heart Expedition Have become some favorites for ramp as they can pump you up quick for cheap.

Last but not least for lands Ive also recently fallen in love with Bonders' Enclave as a way to spend any left over mana you might have for a smidge of card advantage. Great for commanders that start at 4 power plus.

I have used all 4 of those cards in so many of my budget brews I have here.

BoredomBrews: I've never heard of Manifold Key, I'll have to try that out in my Let us Go on a Bike Ride: Uril Storm Primer deck. Also, in regards to Khalni Heart Expedition, it seems to slow for ramping, but I haven't actually used it.

Khalni Heart Expedition is great in a landfall deck, since it enables instant speed landdrops, while being way cheaper than most fetch lands. Instant blockers with Omnath, Locus of Rage, instant speed stealing with Roil Elemental, instant carddraw with Tatyova, Benthic Druid, the possibilities are endless. Especially with Eternity Vessel it's a great way to not die by damage :D
