Dark Confidant in a Krrick Deck?

I am on the fence as to whether or not I really want Dark Confidant in the EDH Deck I am building which will have a K'rrik, Son of Yawgmoth in it. Paying that much life if I run into something like a Phyrexian Obliterator might be a bit, ouchies? Wouldn't it? Is it a good idea? The deck theme I am doing is basically power at any cost and the Ends justify the means so, would it be wise to go THAT far to obtain power?

I would say it depends on the average mana cost of your deck. However in black you have also a lot of ways to gain life back so if you plan to spend a lot of life you have to put in cards that make you recover like Exsanguinate . I also would run Phyrexian Arena and or Necropotence to have more consistent card draw because i don't know how long Dark Confidant would stay in play. If you plan to give your deck this kind of direction i would add Bolas's Citadel that could be great in this type of deck.

It all rides on how much life gain you’re running. Anything to pump up K’rrik? Pontiff of Blight ? Crypt Ghast ? Lifelinking creatures?

I run it in my list. K'rrik cEDH

And yes, it IS worth it going that far for Power. K'rrik is an all or nothing general IMHO

Only point of life that matters is the last. It’s a common joke that Sylvan Library actually just reads “draw three cards, lose 8 life” because you just have so much. Pay the life, and if you’re dying too much, put some lifelinkers like Kalitas, Traitor of Ghet or even Batterskull to help stem the tide.
