Make a Deck that revolves around these three cards. Braid of Fire , Herald of Leshrac , Karplusan Minotaur . Go!!! Make it fucking disgusting and to make it even more Challenging let's make the budget $500.

So... I'm guessing based on your not quite a question that YOU want to play a deck revolving around these cards, and that you either don't know where to start, don't care enough to actually try to put it together yourself, or just plain would prefer someone else do the work for you and let you buy the finished product.
At the very least, this is how "Make this deck, go! also make it good and for under 500$" comes across. That's a statement I expect to hear from my boss at work, not from someone on an MTG forum.
With that aside, I'm going to assume it's the former of the three, that you just don't really know where to start, and have a genuine interest in this deck beyond simply acquiring/playing it. If that's the case, I'd recommend looking the cards up on EDHRec and seeing what comes up, or even looking them up on tappedout and seeing what kinds of decks they are in so that you can at least assemble a rough draft.

Once you have that, many users on this site would be happy to help you refine the list and make it "fucking disgusting".

Just be careful about phrasing... Your thread makes it sound kind of like you think this site's users are a bunch of basement dwellers with nothing better to do than make decks for other people. Not that I particularly care that you assume that, but rather that it doesn't exactly make me want to build a deck for you.

Tl;Dr: Make a rough draft, then I'd be happy to help.

DuTogira

  1. Please don't assume, that's just rude.
  2. This is not a help forum.
  3. I wanted to try and make something fun for people to do so they just don't get bored of same things that pop up over and over again.
  4. I am a basement dweller myself, thank you very much.
  5. I would very much like it if you didn't mock me on my, what is suppose to be fun, threads.

Sincerely, bwanabeast5.

OK, lets humor this - the one of only card that works well with beneficial cumulative upkeep cards is Paradox Haze . Additionally, proliferate effects like Atraxa, Praetors' Voice will do combine with these cards.

Other than that, who knows. about 60 non-land cards to go. None of these cards are any good. 2/4 creature for 7 mana is not exactly my definition of "effing disgusting".

Krark's Thumb seems like a pretty obvious include for the coin flipping.

Revolves around seems pretty subjective. I'm more used to esper colors so I can't speak for what might be in red that would be interesting.

Paradox Haze would be an obvious choice. Then being able to copy that effect with Estrid's Invocation and Copy Enchantment would be obvious. Since the deck must incorporate an upkeep-based theme, Mind Unbound , As Foretold . Quest cards like Quest for Ula's Temple end up being resolved pretty quickly too.

As AnchroCity said, Krark's Thumb synergizes with the coinflip at upkeep. This could lead to potentially 3 wins per upkeep in terms of coinflips. In that case Chance Encounter might be pretty neat as a wincon.

Cards like decent into madness ends up having a factorial effect with the multiple upkeeps (1 counter, then 2, then 3, then 4 means 1+2+3+4 = 10 cards exiled on the first turn after its played) if I'm understanding the wording correctly.

This does kill cards with cumulative upkeep costs that aren't in fact benefits like the 3 you've chosen. Thats all I'm willing to think about it for now but it seems like it could be pretty neat.

I love your thinking Wargles, I've already started a deck btw and Chance Encounter , is in fact already in there. Here is what I suggest we do. We either make a new forum and make the deck a group project (screw the budget, we don't need it), or we stay on this one and just brainstorm. And if not that's totally fine, I just thought it was a fun idea.

And yes they are all self beneficial to me, but rather than just run 2 colors, you could run three or four colors to either destroy it at the right moment, or just run cards that benefit you by sacrificing the lands you take so they can't get it back.

Its a pretty neat idea, I think I'll take this deck challenge since I've been thinking about an enchantment-themed Grixis deck for a little while. Utilizing the upkeep phase is not a concept I'm very familiar with, but it seems to have more depth than I thought at first. I'll post the deck when its up, sometime this weekend.

You have been challenged, Wargles!!! Here's what we will do. We both make decks and see which is more popular. Is that cool?

It didn't really incorporate Karplusan Minotaur into the theme that well but I liked how it came out regardless. Here it is

bwanabeast5 says... #16

how do did you incorporate Herald of Leshrac ?

March 8, 2019 5:31 p.m.

Wargles says... #17

There are a few ways.

Contagion Clasp and Inexorable Tide have proliferate, which would increase the age counters on Herald of Leshrac .

Paradox Haze adds an additional upkeep, which can increase the effect of Herald. Paradox can be copied by Estrid's Invocation , Copy Enchantment , or Clever Impersonator .

As Foretold , Aether Vial , and Braid of Fire (if Teferi, Mage of Zhalfir or Leyline of Anticipation is in play) could help cheat him onto the field for less mana than hard-casting him

Clever Impersonator or Followed Footsteps can copy Herald and amplify his land-stealing effect even more. Followed Footsteps can amplify it even more with additional copies of Herald over time or with additional upkeeps from Paradox

Anything that affects card-draw easily affects the chances of drawing Herald, and there are quite a few cards that do that in the deck.

Wargles, you need to remember if you can't take that many Lands then you have to sacrifice him. Then they get all their lands back.

True, I didn't consider that. I imagine if it gets to that point I should've been able to win. Looking forward to seeing the deck!
