5-Color decks built around a commander who isn't in the Command Zone

People have always strived for something bigger. Something bigger. Some Johnnies of the world never wanted their Arcum Dagsson to be just one color, the resident Timmies always thirsted for an Omnath, Locus of Rage that wasn't confined to just Gruul. Or at least, I did. This strategy of having a bunch of tutors used to be very shaky, because half your deck would be recursion, tutors, and reanimation to keep your pseudo-general alive. Luckily, with the printing of Sisay, Weatherlight Captain, you have a legendary tutor in the command zone, and now, you only have to dedicate about 5 slots to finding your commander. The rest is up to you!

Personally, the commander I've wanted to try this on has been the face of Grixis Herself, Marchesa, the Black Rose (sorry, Lord of Tresserhorn). You get a ridiculous amount by adding Selesnya. You get enter the battlefield and death triggers like no other: Guardian Project, Stonehorn Dignitary, and my personal favorite, Gutter Grime. You get amazing ramp, like Sakura-Tribe Elder and Viridian Emissary, and the best sac outlet in the game, Fanatical Devotion.

But there's one thing I haven't talked about: Rhythm of the Wild and friends (Grumgully, the Generous, Renata, Called to the Hunt, Good-Fortune Unicorn, etc) . These cards are broken, leading to pseudo-infinites, locking your opponents out of their combat steps forever, invincible boardstates, hundreds of tokens per turn cycle, etc. So, what do you think? Do you have any commanders that could use this treatment? Any suggestions for cards for this deck? Well, thanks for sitting through this ramble, and as always, Happy Tapping!

Gutter Grime is another one of those perfect-in-every-way cards. 100%.

i have seen some nasty Sisay, Weatherlight Captain super friends decks that utilize combos like Aminatou, the Fateshifter + Nicol Bolas, Dragon-God + Oath of Teferi to loop lands and plans walkers like Chandra, Awakened Inferno

but i love what your doing only card i would suggest is Cauldron of Souls as a backup, protect, or stand in for Marchesa, the Black Rose

Honestly Marchesa with green feels too easy. There's too much +1+1 counter support like Verdurous Gearhulk which would allow you to abuse his and 3 other etb/death triggers on everyone's turn. You wouldn't even have to worry about the Throne or life totals.

I've contemplated color shifting a commander away from its primary color and replacing it with a non-broken color (i.e. or Animar or Marchesa, the Black Rose). This was more for a deck building challenge since I wouldn't have resources to help and the deck would be unique.

I even randomly designed a color shifted Animar at one point. This took it one step further in color shifting to change its abilities and didn't just change its color identity.

Decimar, Life of Aether

Pro White and Green (colors hes not still)

Whenever a creature is put into your graveyard put a +1+1 counter on Decimar.

Non-creature spells you cast cost less for each counter on Decimar.

1/1

This felt a bit more extreme but I tried to keep it fairer than og Animar by counters coming from creatures dying and the discount applied to non-creature spells. I kept it just creature you control dies instead of non-token so the token route was an option still.

Omniscience_is_life - Fair lol. I never actually built it but yeah I realized there were spells like that and extra turns that I'd have to avoid or it'd be pretty busted.

Last_Laugh I'm joking, for the most part. It's much easier to get Mizzy's counters than Decimar's.
