Tiny Leaders Help - Slimefoot

Commander Deck Help forum

Looking for feedback for tiny leaders deck Tiny Fungi. It only ever seems to win when I get Westvale Abbey  Flip to flip. That's cool, but I'd like to win other ways too. The goal is to create a value engine with saproling tokens. Open to either aristocrats or going wide. If you recommend additions, please let me know what you think I should cut too. I always have a hard time with that. I know, I should probably add Blood Artist . I just love staying on theme, but I am definitely open to adding Blood Artist if that's what it takes. Thank you!

I'd like to start of by saying I have not played much Tiny Leaders but I have played a lot of EDH and in general deck building ideas are transferable.

I think your deck is great at generating lots of saprolings but on there own saprolings are not a great wincon. Lots of 1/1 (note lots not infinite 1/1s) don't win games buy them selves. You have an engine but you need something to connect it to (normally something to make them big or aristocrats). This should be where your commander comes in draining your opponents life. So the question I'm asking (in a long roundabout way) is why isn't your commander killing people with his drain ability.? I do not think you need blood artist, I do not think he would hurt but your comander is a blood artist.

If your answer is he keeps dying the solution is simple : Swiftfoot Boots and Lightning Greaves

If the answer is that you cant get your sapolings to die add more sacrifice outlets: Ashnod's Altar and Phyrexian Altar would work very well but i think you probably have enough.

If the answers that your opponents life gain is enough to offset the drain. consider adding either larger drains: My two suggestions would be Exsanguinate which can work very well with the altars I mentioned above or/and perhaps an alt win con Ashnods alter and Nim Deathmantle work well with any creature that makes a creature on death or ETB(of which you have three in the deck already) (combo. sac two creatures to ashnods and use the 4 mana to pay for nim's trigger and repeat infinity using your commander to kill them with drain).

Hope I help at least a little

Thanks a lot for the insightful analysis, SP3CTR3_chelts! You are totally spot on that my problems are either A) my opponents kill Slimefoot right away or B) I don't have a sac outlet when Slimefoot stays alive. Any recommendations for cards to cut?

Hmmm that is a much harder question :P

maybe try this:

-Sprout Swarm (just seems too expensive to buyback even with convoke)

-Alpha Authority (similar to boots but the cost is paid after and only works once)

-Channeler Initiate (bit out of place as there are better mana dorks, I know you can dump all the -1/-1 on a saproling but a 3/4 just does not seem worth it)

+Swiftfoot Boots

+Lightning Greaves

+Ashnod's Altar

another addition if you didn't mind going a little of theme is Winding Constrictor which would accelerate lots off your generation (even has synergy with oren-rief)

A couple of land swaps could work as well:

  • Bojuka Bog (this is just a nice utility card which will piss one GY recursion deck off :P)

  • Grim Backwoods (these two serve similar functions as they would replace the affect of Sprout Swarm whilst freeing up a card slot)

  • Arch of Orazca

Oh man, I absolutely love the idea of Winding Constrictor ! Definitely going to find a way to work that in. Thank you so much, super helpful recommendations.

No problem :) I was also looking into cards with the proliferate mechanic but i don't see any particularly great value ones for your deck.
