Mono white control options

Commander Deck Help forum

I'll just start by saying this; I know. I know mono white is arguably the weakest option when it comes to building an EDH deck, but I enjoy the challenge of brewing flavourful mono-coloured decks and my playgroup isn't hyper competitive anyway.

With that in mind, I decided to go with Lyra Dawnbringer - angel tribal with lifegain win-cons and some unexpected control elements. Cards like Mana Tithe, Orim's Chant, Rebuff the Wicked, that sort of thing. I am by no means familiar with mono-white control though so my question for you is this: do you have any pet cards that swing the game or surprise your opponents that you think might be a decent fit in this deck?:

Unexpectedly Absent is criminally underplayed in mono-W decks as instant speed unconditional removal is so good. The value of the card only goes up the more competitive the competition gets, as that naturally increases the natural shuffle effect count they run.

Comeuppance and Settle the Wreckage are especially useful for surviving turns where you are suppose to die.

admittedly mono white is possibly the weakest choice for a deck in edh if you're looking for power, that being said mono white's strength is mass land destruction and board wipes, so a deck not heavily reliant on it's lands and ability to keep it's creatures around is a good bet, the next set will have some form of mana ramp for an edh white player, who's going to stop y9ou from lotus petal for every card they draw after all, so Teferi's Protection with any mass land destruction, maybe Crucible of Worlds and any utility land in sight, mana rocks galore and any card considered by death and taxes players.

I just finished my monowhite commander deck. Admittedly its aggro based so control isnt what it specializes in but there are some underutilized ones Lapse of Certainty no one expects a hard counter in monowhite (even if it spins it to the top of the deck) Silence doesnt see enough play if you ask me Cataclysmic Gearhulk i find to be a very versatile conteol crearure
