Be thankful you have a mom that buys you cards lol. Stick it in something else and avoid the new build.

how super budget you want it to be? I mean you could just use it and buy another commander if thats what you want because blue is one of the most expansive colors if not the most

@Mj3913 I don't have any blue decks

Simply build a new, unusual deck that tries to utilize Teferi in a non-traditional way. You might be slaughtered your first time, since players will be afraid of the commander, but they will go easier on you once they realize you are not running a tier 1 deck.

I would be happy to look at any decklist you create, or discuss any ideas you might have.

-You could play it in a 4 or 5 color Superfriends deck

-Narset, Tasigur, maybe Breya, or another deck.

-$200 Chain Veil Teferi work off of this maybe? If its too competitive still, then take some key pieces out and make a combo deck.

Going along with cdkime,make a cool jank combo deck that one expects.

Make a pingers deck! Prodigal Sorcerer, Prodigal Pyromancer etc! I suggest Temur or whiteless.

Run one of the alternate commanders in the deck.

@cklise i just got him as a single.

@hecklefeckle,Ser1ousGaM3r,cdkime,alexremy,Mj3913 I want a planeswalker value deck. Do any of you know good-but not hate me off the table good- planeswalkers?

Just some ideas, I mean Jace Beleren draws everyone cards. You could maybe make an Group Hug deck. That used Teferi to untap other permanents you don't control like their creatures. The good ole Island Sanctuary + Mystic Decree lock isn't necessarily everyone hates you they just attack every else.

Spirit_Logan says... #13

@Ser1ousGaM3r...I like it. Are there any other group hug 'walkers?

February 22, 2018 10:36 p.m.

Caerwyn says... #14

Planeswalkers tend to draw hate--if they are left unchecked, they have a nasty habit of using game-ending abilities.

Other than Jace Beleren, which Ser1ousGaM3r, there are very few planeswalkers in Mono-Blue which play well with others. I suppose Tezzeret the Seeker 's +1 ability could be used to help your opponents by untapping their artifacts. This might buy you enough time to unleash his powerful -X ability to tutor combo pieces, but accelerating your opponents is usually less than ideal.

I took a look through the decks you have on here and teferi is a good include in mairsil. There will be a lot of tap effects in that deck and he can untap them. I built my own mairsil just a bit ago and you play stuff out of the cage just as much as you put it in the cage.

Should I Pretend This Or That? if you want to take a look.

Otherwise superfirends is a pretty good idea for him, my superfriends list is not in a great place right now but it is pretty low key most the time and still has the ability to take over a game given some space.

Walker Engine if you are more interested in that.

It is just one card that you were given so you don't have to make it the center piece if you don't want to. Don't feel bad for not making a deck around it.

@cdkime i just want a teferi deck that people don't annihilate but it seems like planeswalkers are the only good way to do it.

@DrukenReaps I am putting those decks on the building backburner for now. I want teferi at the helm.

The wonderful thing about Magic's wealth of cards is that there are very few situations where there is only one good way to get something done. For example, allows you to untap permanents. There are plenty of artifacts with activated group-hug abilities--you could utilize those, as opposed to planeswalkers, for your group hug deck.

Spirit_Logan says... #19

@cdkime If you could, could I have a list? Also, is there an artifact-related wincon that people won't expect?

February 22, 2018 10:52 p.m.

DrukenReaps says... #20

Well in that case you want to build around two things. Tap abilities and walkers. Maybe just choose one of those? Tap abilities will be less hated but still strong.

Some good ones to get you started Basalt Monolith, Arcanis the Omnipotent, Galecaster Colossus, Azami, Lady of Scrolls, Serendib Sorcerer, Fatestitcher, Prodigal Sorcerer.

Perhaps wizard tribal as a subtheme since they love their tap effects?

Run a gatherer search for the text "tap" and other key terms, such as "target player" or "each player." I would not want to deprive you of the joy of deckbuilding, so will not run a full search, but cards like Temple Bell come to mind.

As for artifact win conditions, there are numerous ones. Grindstone and Painter's Servant for infinite mill. Rings of Brighthearth and Basalt Monolith for infinite damage. Any number of Triskelion combos.

@cdkime understandable

Spirit_Logan "Also, is there an artifact-related wincon that people won't expect?" -> there are plenty! A personal favourite is Mindslaver + Academy Ruins. Sure, the land is pricey, but this wins you games. 1v1 is an insta lock. I pulled it off the other day in a 4-player FFA, slaved the last player before me, put it back on top, slaver the next player after me and used their resources to kill them all :)
