Wonder Woman and the Amazonians

Above is my first vorthos deck. I wanted it to be around or under $200, and based on DC Comics, and when I saw a tag for something Wonder Woman I decided that that was what I was going to pick.

I sadly only know so much about Wonder Woman and the Amazonians, and don't expect others to know a ton, but if you know how to better the deck, budget it, fit on theme, etc. I would love to know!

It's a Winota, Joiner of Forces deck based on some Human and Soldier Tribals, with an emphasis on female cards, though Raise the Alarm and a few other cards don't fit perfectly >.<

If you are a vorthos yourself, how hard do you fit to the theme? I am new to this, despite playing semi-professionally and having a ton of knowledge of the game, I never really delved into this aspect of the game!

I'm pretty sure Suns_Champion should have some insight. He's the go to guy for anything red or white.

RNR_Gaming For sure, and honestly I think I need Elspeth, Sun's Champion in the list, sure makes some non-humans, seems sweet in the deck!

Just at a glance I'd reccomend Reconnaissance I have a list too but think you may be going for a more flavorful approach than my list allows for.

Oooo lovely! I love the "alters" you have as some of the cards! This deck looks sweet, and I love a ton of these card choices!

So I am certainly an expert of Red/White, but since this is a vorthos deck I am hesitant to start going off with advice here. In my opinions, vorthos decks are something very different from normal deckbuilding! And how glad I am that you are trying out this side of deckbuilding! It is a ton of fun.

Some thoughts about vorthos building:

However you want to represent things is the best way. With vorthos building, you want to represent things. That's great. I say, regardless of what card is representing what, it's a good choice as long as you can justify it to yourself and you feel good about it. You don't have to prove anything to anyone else. Pick what feels good to you.

There is no "not vorthos enough." Not every card in the deck has to be part of the vorthos aspect. Sometimes you need draw and ramp, and it doesn't have to represent something. I have decks that are 100% vorthos, and some that have 1-2 vorthos cards, and some where I built the vorthos around the cards already picked. No right or wrong way to do it.

You don't have to get every element of the theme into the deck. Yeah, the Amazonians live on an Island. Does that mean you have to switch to blue to fit that theme? Nope! You want to make a RW Wonder Woman deck, and that's fine! You don't have to cram every reference in there.

Have fun with it. Vorthos decks aren't necessarily supposed to be cutthroat or competitive, aim for a lower power deck. That helps budget and means that you'll get to play it in lower power pods. That means the games will go slightly longer so you can play more vorthos stuff!

Suns_Champion Wow, thanks for the advice! I'll check out those decks, and some more vorthos ones for the time being. I'm planning on altering each card in the deck, down to individual lands!

P.S.: I never really felt the need to add CSS styles to my decks, but if any could use it, that would be the one. Mind if I ask how to do it or where to go to learn?

Yeah, honestly this was more about trying to learn how to make one and support my list, but, okay?

I don't want to be pushy, but I'd recommend making a separate post rather than triple-posting mine about your deck! Or chat w/ me on my page/pms!
