Help me crack a combo!

So I have this deck... "Chainer and Things". And all I want for Christmas is a combo with Carnival of Souls... The trick is that my mono black deck can only include old-school bordered cards, and I can't for the life of me figure out any combos with this card with these restrictions...! So please, all you fine people here at tappedout, can ya help a guy out?

Tortured Existence and Desecrated Tomb seem like good candidates... but I don’t know if they meet the border requirement...

If Threshold isn't a problem for the deck, Decaying Soil and Blood Pet works pretty well. Adding Grave Pact would be cruel...

Squee_Spirit_Guide Threshold is fine :) - That's an excellent combo! Thank you! And indeed great with Pact and also the cutthroat - can't wait to try these out!

FormOverFunction & ROUROU these look like solid combos - unfortunately my nostalgia restrictions mean that I can only use cards from Scourge or older, or the re-released old border cards...

Heartless Summoning comes to mind with Myr Retriever and some Altar of Dementia nonsense, but the old border requisite has me buffering. I may look further into this later. Best of luck!

Thanks, for givin' it a go m8 - ya it's tricky with the restrictions I know ;P but I got 2 solid suggestions so far which is great - and 2 more than I thought I would get! x) - Such a nice community here <3

Asgeren I know, the community I have here is a huge reason I stick around, tons of smart folks who are also polite. I would name drop Squee_Spirit_Guide for kindness alone, but he's already commented for you!
Truly, there's always a great convo to be had about magic, and to be had amongst good company nonetheless. :)

Since you're playing Chainer, him, Carnival and Cabal Archon + Priest of Gix allows you to have someone lose 2 life for 2 of yours.

Ah yeah myLAAN, nice one m8, only thing is the life loss might be tricky - but it would be such a cool kill and very suicide black!

Yup, the suicide aspect is very flavorful and what else is Premodern about than style ;)
You can also use what I mentioned alongside Ashnod's Altar and the aforementioned Decaying Soil to kill fair and square. Priest of Gix + Altar + Soil is infinite black mana and then Cabal Archon kills. However, that works without the Carnival of Souls :D
