Gishath, Sun's Avatar Question/Concern

Commander Deck Help forum

Hey everyone!! Lately I've been creating a dino tribal Gishath, Sun's Avatar commander deck. I really love his ability to bring out huge dinosaurs for free.

I like where my deck is currently at however I have one concern. With Gishath's ability, everything that is not a creature goes to the bottom of the library. I was wondering if anyone who runs Gishath could tell me how they deal with not being able to use these cards? Or possibly if anyone had any ideas as to how to get to use these cards by filtering through the library or something like that.

If you have any ideas and would like to check out the deck, here is the link: Dinosaurs

All comments and ideas are much appreciated. I look forward to hearing from you guys!

I mean I guess you just want to run tutors? They let you access your entire deck, which seems to be the issue, but fetchlands shuffling cards you didn't want to the bottom can help too. Scroll Rack can filter the top of your deck so you know what you are going to be putting on the bottom before you do, getting out more dinos as well as getting access to more cards.

Other good effects in Gishath's colors for that are Sensei's Divining Top, Mirri's Guile, and Sylvan Library, then Enlightened Tutor, Worldly Tutor, Eladamri's Call, and Green Sun's Zenith type effects are good tutors for accessing those cards!

Big smashy draw spells before you attack is, in my opinion, the best way to get those non-dino cards.

Shamanic Revelation, Return of the Wildspeaker, and Rishkar's Expertise are the ones I usually use.

I don't think it's a concern really. Ultiamtely, you didn't know what those cards were until you flipped them with Gishath, it's only that now you've seen them and you're bummed because you could have used them. I think the best thing to do is to not focus on them and just keep doing your strategy. And ultimately, if you're getting Gishath triggers, you already have 8 mana available so you're doing ok there.

If you really are desperate to make sure you still have access to the cards, short of cramming every tutor you can get your hands on into the deck, you're probably going to want to look into lots of shuffle effects. Just adding cards like Terramorphic Expanse, Evolving Wilds, Ash Barrens, etc. will help in that you can shuffle your library, potentially resetting those cards to at minimum "not the bottom of the deck". And these are really easy additions as they already do work in the deck without having to consume dedicated slots.
