Creative wincons for meren

Commander Deck Help forum

so ive been playing casual commander, with Meren of Clan Nel Toth at at the helm. we play in a very casual place where anything really goes aslong as its not 2 card combos or unbeatable. stax and all is fine so is land destruction. aslong as its nothing too broken. i took out any infinite combo options like trike+mike or cheesy ooze combos

ive tried several things and here are my thoughts.

i tried Avenger of Zendikar but without a token heavy synergy deck it felt mediocre.

i tried Geth, Lord of the Vault which was alot of fun. always taking mana rocks first into big bad golgari mill XD.

i tried and my personal favourite Nature's Revolt with a World Shaper out to make people all have lethal on board and too scared to boardwipe XD

the smaller wincons i have that i do not intend to change is the black primordial and vraska unseen which is just funny. anything you guys have seen around that i could try?

I like to drain life with my Meren. I use Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord with some bigger dudes. I also use Gray Merchant of Asphodel who gets a little out of control with Panharmonicon.

And because Biorhythm is banned in commander I like Shaman of Forgotten Ways for a hilarious finish once the board is mine. If you're playing against a lifegain deck make sure to include useful cards like Torgaar, Famine Incarnate and Tree of Perdition. Nobody resets life like .

How about this? Nature's Revolt and Massacre Wurm? Bontu's Last Reckoning could help take out the rest of their creatures for lethal (as long as World Shaper is on the field). Why not make everyone mad?!

Every playgroup is different and treats land destruction their own way. Here's my playgroups opinions on it. If you wipe the board of all the lands, you'd better be winning the next turn or two.

We've had a few instances where all the lands were destroyed and the person who did it had zero board position. It made the game last an additional hour and a half while we had others waiting to join. We also don't have people who will scoop at the sight of their lands going away. They aren't dead yet. Wiping the lands had better seal your win instead of hoping you'll recover faster than your opponents.

i dont wanna be the one that blows up the lands, just the one who sets it up. and i can protect myself with a Spore Frog. the chaos from it is hilarious as no one really wants to boardwipe XD

The idea is to kill your opponents with their lands with that combo. Each opponent loses 2 life for each creature that dies because of Massacre Wurm and revolt makes lands creatures. This isn’t just about land destruction. It’s a finisher.

Mikaeus, the Unhallowed + Triskelion or Walking Ballista + sac outlet. Mikaeus, the Unhallowed + Woodfall Primus and sac outlet allows for infinite destroy everything your opponent has except creatures, this includes lands.

While obviously not the most competitive, I still include It That Betrays in my Meren of Clan Nel Toth deck. Just use it alongside Plaguecrafter, Merciless Executioner/Fleshbag Marauder, Dictate of Erebos, Butcher of Malakir and Grave Pact like effects :)

Also Westvale Abbey  Flip can be fun.
