10 Cards TOO Many

Commander Deck Help forum

Hey guys and gals, I'm at a loss. I'm working on an Aurelia, the Warleader EDH deck and I've got 10 cards too many. I'm not quite sure what to remove as everything seems too useful to me. This is only my second edh deck I've built, and the one I've put the most thought into. Any help would be appreciated. The deck is Aurelia's Jitte and Helm.

Honestly Basandra, Battle Seraph isn’t too good since people will just play their spells before your combat step.

The Chance for Glory and Angel's Grace combo takes too many pieces to reliably pull off and doesn’t provide that much advantage that Aurelia the Warleader won’t already give with the addition combat steps.

You don’t have all that many creatures that Skullclamp will reliably kill, people will just avoid the creature it is equipped to unless it is too valuable.

Tajic, Legion's Edge honestly mentor isnt that great of an ability in commander when it takes some time to get the ball rolling. New Aurellia is fine since it has flying and is a decent angel.

Oblation isn’t too great since it gives your opponent card advantage for just getting rid of one permanent.

Here is my Aurellia deck for comparison. Aurelia's Angelic crusade

I can see the point on Basandra, Battle Seraph , even though she's smexy. Same for Chance for Glory , I've actually taken other double combat enablers out. Angel's Grace was more of a security blanket rather than for the combo. Something I could consider taking out. Skullclamp is interesting. I see 4 creatures it could kill as well as three cards that create 1/1 tokens. Is that enough to reliably gain the advantage? I'm not sure, Noted to take out. Tajic, Legion's Edge was put in more for the static effect rather than mentor. Not sure how prevalent non combat damage is though. Oblation can target my permanents as well as opponents. Do I have enough card draw?

Joe_Ken_, thanks for these to think about.

Leave Skullclamp in if you think you can get a good amount of value off it to draw cards. I would still take Tajic out since he doesn’t really stop any board wipes not including Blasphemous Act and Starstorm You don’t have too many enter the battlefield effects for Restoration Angel to do all too much work. Valorous Stance can probably be removed since you already have instants that kill stuff better and protect your creatures better. Gamble while being one of the only tutors Boros has I don’t think it is all to necessary in this deck because it can be devestating for the tutored card to be removed.

Joe_Ken_ yeah, I'm talking through my options to better weigh the pro's and con's of the suggested cards. It really has me thinking on the clamp. I've taken it out an put it back in a few times before. You're the second person that has told me to remove Valorous Stance and yeah, I think it does need to go. :)
