The inspiration

The inspiration for this build came from a conversation I had with Cloudy105N on their deck

: We were discussing combos around Form of the Dragon and I came across Second Chance and I thought there had to be a way it could go infinite. I tried a Legacy build but in my head it just wouldn’t work so I started trying to build it in the EDH format instead.

This is one of the first decks I brewed in EDH and after taking some time looking at & brewing other decks I decided to come back to this list and see what I could do.

Zur is perfect because he can tutor the two main pieces to the puzzle that we need. He can do this with one attack if we have Stironic resonator or Illusionist's Bracers in play we can do this with one attack.
The combo is relatively simple. Riptide Chimera + Second Chance At the beginning of your upkeep both abilities go on the stack, second chance triggers saying you sacrifice it and take an extra turn after this one, then the chimera ability goes on the stack and resolves first, bounce second chance back to your hand. The rules text on the gatherer states that “even if second chance is no longer on the battlefield when the ability resolves you still take the extra turn”. In your main phase you can cast second chance again and repeat. There are a few other ways to create a loop with second chance. The main other way is using Sun Titan to recur it after it has been sacrificed.
To get this to go off we need to have 5 life at the beginning of our upkeep. To do this we’re running as many cards that allow us to pay life with out also paying mana.

- Necropotence

- Unspeakable Symbol These are the best options as we can fetch them with Zur.

As well as these we have,

- Doom Whisperer

- Hatred

- Necrologia

- Toxic Deluge

-carion howler

The above will allow us to activate one of their abilities on the end step before our next turn to combo off quickly. There are a few other avenues we can use to get our life total low very quickly.

Once we have the combo in full swing we need to have Grand Abolisher in play. We’re running several tutors that we can cast early to fetch him. But he is essential to shut off the game. Linvala, Keeper of Silence will be the final nail in the coffin which can stop people activating abilities that could kill the grand abolisher. Also we are running several counter spells in this section too.
Once we can start taking infinite turns we can draw our deck. Laboratory Maniac will win the game this way, along with Jace, wielded of mysteries

Psychosis Crawler is an alternative option to ping everyone and attack for mega damage
