Yisan provides both card advantage and consistency. The game plan is to get Yisan into play asap and then ticking up his verses.

The typical line of play is:

  1. Ramp

  2. Play Yisan

  3. Verse 1 for Quirion Ranger

  4. Verse 2 for Priest of Titania

  5. Double verse 4 for Karametra's Acolyte and Temur Sabertooth.

  6. Combo off. This can by activating Yisan twice, grabbing Woodland Bellower on Verse 6, which then grabs Wirewood Symbiote. From here, we have infinite mana and infinite untaps.

When all else fails, we have Craterhoof Behemoth sitting there at verse 8.

Other combos:

  • Umbral Mantle + creature that taps for 4+ mana creates infinite mana and untaps.

  • Staff of Domination + creature that taps for 5+ mana creates infinite mana, life, uptaps, and card draw.
