Yennett Doom's Desire (Paper)

Commander / EDH WUB (Esper)

thefalsesummer

No Labman! Trying something new and crazy. Mind's Desire Doomsday.

The Pile: 1. Mind's Desire 2. Mana or Protection or Gitaxian Probe 3. Memory Lapse 4. Aetherflux Reservoir 5. Nexus of Fate

The Line: 1. Have either {A draw-two w/mana, 2BBBUU, Storm 1} (Dark Ritual/Mana Vault line) or {A draw-two w/mana, a free land drop, BBBUU, Storm 2} (Lake of the Dead line) or {A draw-one, a Yennett swing, 1BBBUU, Storm 1} (Yennett + Dark Ritual line) or {A draw-one w/mana, 4BBBUU, Storm 1}. (Cantrip/Protection line) 2. Cast Doomsday. Draw into Mind's Desire and your protection/mana. 3. Cast Mind's Desire with Storm 4. Let three of the storm copies resolve, exiling your doomsday pile. 4. In response to the fourth storm copy, cast Memory Lapse on the original Mind's Desire, putting it on top. 5. Let the fourth storm copy resolve, exiling Mind's Desire. 6. Cast Aetherflux Reservoir. Cast Nexus of Fate. Cast Mind's Desire with Storm 8. 7. Cast Nexus of Fate nine times in a row. 8. By now, you've gained 151 life, assuming no other storm. Kill with Aetherflux.

Nexus of Fate Combo:

Requirements: 1. Isochron Scepter. 2. Mystical/Vampiric tutor (and lots of life to spare if it's Vampiric). 3. Yennett swing. 4. Nexus of Fate in library. 5. Four generic mana.

Line: 1. Cast Isochron, imprinting a top-of-library tutor. 2. Tap Scepter to bring Nexus to the top. 3. Swing with Yennett, cast Nexus. 4. Repeat ad nauseam.

Card Choices and Notable Exclusions:

Most of what I don't have is because I don't own it. This includes ABUR duals, Mana Crypt, Mox Diamond, the rest of the Zendikar fetches, Imperial Seal, Force of Will, etc.

--Lake of the Dead: most powerful "mana ritual" available. Gives +BBBB, assuming you have two swamps and haven't played a land. Since Doomsday + Mind's Desire is so expensive (9 mana!), Lake is in. --Mindblade Render: Second, worse bob. Still the best of the bob knockoffs by a fair margin. --Dramatic Reversal: Not as good without half of the mana positive rocks, but with Iso-Rev, I think it's worth it. Iso-Rev currently has Mind's Desire, Aetherflux, and Sensei's Divining Top as outlets. --Jace, Vryn's Prodigy   I prefer him over Snapcaster and Baral. I also don't own a Snapcaster. I might eventually test Baral, however.
