Yarok, the Infinitely Disgusting Garbage Pile

Commander / EDH Blink BUG (Sultai) Infinite Combo Primer Tokens Value Engine

theninja97

Here's a deck with roughly 30 infinite combos in it

Yarok, the Desecrated + Peregrine Drake + Cloudstone Curio

With Yarok and Curio on the field, Cast Peregrine Drake. Yarok's ability will cause peregrine drake's ability to activate twice. Cloudstone Curio will also trigger twice. Stack the triggers so that curio resolves last.

1) Resolve the first drake trigger to occur to untap 5 lands.

2) Before resolving the 2nd drake trigger, tap the lands to float 5 mana.

3) Resolve the 2nd drake trigger and untap 5 lands. Tapping these lands will generate 5 more mana for 10 in total.

4) Resolve the Curio Trigger, returning Yarok to the hand. The 2nd curio trigger is a may, so you can elect to ignore it.

5) Cast Yarok with 5 of the floating mana, triggering Cloudstone Curio to bounce the Drake to the hand. Ignore the 2nd curio trigger

6) Cast Peregrine Drake with the remaining floating mana.

7) Repeat steps 1-6 for infinite ETB effects

In this deck, this engine is largely paired with Altar of the Brood to mill the opponents infinitely.

If Yarok is substituted for another creature with cmc 4 or less, infinite mana is generated in addition to the ETB. Note that Yarok must be on the battlefield for this to work. However, the ETB of the cmc 4 or less creature is infinite, as well. Also note that Yarok can be substituted for Panharmonicon or Deadeye Navigator but in combination can produce 15 mana alongside Peregrine Drake.

Also note that the infinite ETB triggers can also be done with Deadeye Navigator and Cloud of Faeries. With Yarok, they generate infinite mana. Cloudstone Curio can be substituted for creatures that return other creatures to hand like Shrieking Drake or Dream Stalker.

With the Infinite ETB triggers (and infinite mana), there are a number of ways to combo out the game. To name a handful:

1) Reclamation Sage destroys all artifacts and enchantments.

2) Man-o'-War bounces all creatures to the opponent's hand. Venser, Shaper Savant bounces all permanents. Note that these cards can substitute Cloudstone Curio in the original combo by targeting Peregrine Drake and themselves with Yarok, the Desecrated on the field.

3) Ice-Fang Coatl to draw all cards for free and play them with infinite mana. This also works with Baleful Strix, Coiling Oracle, and Mulldrifter.

4) Eternal Witness grabs all cards out of the graveyard.

These cards can be substituted for any number of cards with x in the casting cost (i.e. Torment of Hailfire or Finale of Devastation). The deck can be changed to increase consistency with any particular combo.

Note that any card costing 6 or more must be paired with either another card costing cmc 4 or less or a bounce land in the Peregrine Drake engine to produce infinite mana and be casted.

The deck also runs Thassa's Oracle and Demonic Consultation with Laboratory Maniac and Tainted Pact as backup.

*Note on Tutors

-Spellseeker can grab Flusterstorm, Assassin's Trophy, and Swan Song for removal, Cyclonic Rift for board wiping, Demonic Consultation or Tainted Pact for the combo, and Finale of Devastation and Demonic Tutor for tutors

-Diabolic Intent, Grim Tutor, Demonic Tutor, and Finale of Devastation usually grab combo pieces but can tutor for any number of things
