Xenagos of the Wild Party

Oathbreaker Aggro Ramp RG (Gruul)

Shabompistan

Come party with Xenagos, the Reveler !

This deck's strategy is centered around mana dorks:

  1. Cast a couple of the many different dorks in this deck on the first couple turns.

  2. Cast Xenagos ASAP

  3. Use Xenagos' uptick and dorks to get lots of mana

  4. Cast genesis wave around turn 5 and hope for the best. Best situation is to get out a haste enabler like Ogre Battledriver or Hammer of Purphoros along with a couple big creatures. Create a super agressive boardstate that must be answered.

  5. Party your way to victory

Put in some planewalker damage spells like Domri's Ambush and Thrash / Threat as contingency plans.

This deck focuses on either creatures with utility (i.e. Ravager Wurm ) or ETB effects ( Soul of the Harvest ). Since a permanents from a Genesis Wave cast ETB at the same time and therefore see each other, stacking the ETB effects can be very powerful.

Updates Add

Just realized Rhythm of the Wild does not work with Gensis Wave at all. Due to it being a replacement effect and not an ETB trigger, it will not give creatures riot if they ETB at the same time.

It will be swapped for Khenra Charioteer when I get my hands on one.
