To make an omelette, you must first break some eggs. One of my favorite sayings, meaning that sometimes there must be a sacrifice in order to attain our goals. Niccolò Machiavelli is one of my favorite historical figures. He was a man who believed that the ends justified the means. I am also one who adheres, sometimes to a fault, to that tenet. If Whisper, Blood Liturgist is not the definition of 'ends justify the means,' as well as 'gotta break some eggs to make an omelette,' then my name isn't Shinwizzles.

This deck just screams reanimation abuse. I recently created a decklist captained by Torgaar, Famine Incarnate, and it seems a little similar to this deck, in that both are concerned with making creatures for sac-bait. This deck is more focused on graveyard abuse though. Something along the lines of getting Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger out on the board by graveyard cheats seems appropriate. The gameplan of the deck is pretty straightforward. Try to get stuff into the 'yard, and then forcefully yank it out with Whisper, Blood Liturgist's sweet ability. The deck has the main mono-black wincons like Exsanguinate and Torment of Hailfire, but the deck could also win through just a good ol' fashion beatdown if the opponents cannot stop the massive fatties being pulled from the 'yard. There aren't too many combos in the deck, but I did toss the Thornbite Staff in the deck to make a hilarious little loop with Whisper, Blood Liturgist, if there's enough sac-bait on the field.
