This is a fairly budget The Locust God deck that I've found to be very competitive. It features all of the combos that we want to see in the deck, which are listed below:

1. Isochron Scepter + Dramatic Reversal + to have unlimited mana.
2. Mystic Speculation + + Paradox Engine to re-order your entire library.
3. Skullclamp + The Locust God + Mana Echoes / Ashnod's Altar / Phyrexian Altar for unlimited mana and cards.
4. The Locust God + Kindred Discovery with insect as the chosen type for unlimited draw. Just make sure that you have Stifle available so you don't draw your entire deck out.

Basically once you get The Locust God out (possibly as soon as turn 3-4... thanks, Mana Vault / Sol Ring !) you can play a bunch of wheels while you ping your opponents life away with Purphoros, God of the Forge and Impact Tremors , then combo off and Firestorm your opponents for the win. If your deck gets low on cards, never fear... I don't run Laboratory Maniac for a reason! He's fairly removable, so I simply put in Kozilek, Butcher of Truth . Discard him and he shuffles your graveyard back.

Simian Spirit Guide IS ABSOLUTELY VITAL IN THIS DECK! Mana Echoes , Ashnod's Altar and some of our other ramp cards only produce colorless, so having Simian Spirit Guide can help you play your Firestorm for the win without even having a red source open.

This deck also features a fair amount of tutors while maintaining a budget. Suggestions for an even more competitive deck will be in the Maybeboard.
