I love mono black decks and Mind Flayer, the Shadow hoho its a nice commander even if he is from secret lair (i hate these cards). No idea if this deck works, i just gave it a shot. If you have any suggestion let know i would love to make this deck better.

[(most of the expensive-ish cards i use for the deck i already own them thats why i added them ("obvisously"(also they are good)) and i added some cards i didnt own which they are around 2 bucks, which i found to be quite good]
