Trying to maximize the use of Volo's ability. Volo's ability and how it interacts with different abilities can get quite confusing. Understanding the difference between "creating a token" and "becomes a token" is important.

Notatable combos -

Volo + Spark Double = 3 Volo's

Volo + Mutate = 3 triggers

Volo + Mutate w/ "x" = 5 triggers

Multiple Volo + Mutate = 6, 10, 15, etc.

Volo + Twinning Staff

Volo + Strionic Resonator

Volo + Lithoform Engine

Volo + Helm of the Host

Volo + Panharmonicon = Multiple ETB effects* (Panharmonicon won't affect Volo's ability, but will double each ETB effect from the creature and copy entering the battlefield)

Panharmonicon + Temur Sabertooth + Peregrine Drake = Infinite Mana

The Auspicious Starrix math is slightly trickier. Assume you're mutating it onto a creature 3 times, with no interference. The first mutation gets you one permanent out of your deck. The second one gets you two, because it's the second time you mutated, then two more from the first seeing the second - a net of 4 additional permanents. If you continue this, you get the third providing 3, then 3 more from the 2nd and 3 more from the 1st - a net of 9 additional permanents. As you increase copy triggers, you get a pattern where (n)2 is added for each number. So you get 1 for the first, 2^2 for the second, 3^2 for the 3rd, 4^2 for the 4th, and so on. If you reach 5 copy effects or more, you get 1+4+9+16+25+36=91, for all practical purposes decking yourself on the first casting of the spell.
