VALUE INDOMITABLE POLYMORPH

Modern RGWU

Yuri200X

trying to build Polymorph and Indomitable Creativity but not on a combo deck. more like a value deck.

The idea is to out-value the opponent by playing high-value creature cards:

  1. Kitchen Finks: 3/2 body that comes back as a 2/1 and gains a total of 4 life

  2. Strangleroot Geist: 2/1 body that comes back as a 3/2, has haste

  3. Thragtusk: gains 5 life and leaves a 3/3 beast token when it exits

  4. Wurmcoil Engine: 6/6 lifelink deathtouch that leaves a 3/3 deathtouch and a 3/3 lifelink when it dies

  5. Pia and Kiran Nalaar: 2/2 body with 2 1/1 fliers that can be sacrificed for other Indomitable Creativity/Polymorph or even for 2 damage with Pia itself. It also has synergy with Wurmcoil and Gilded Goose

As the deck demands ramp to function I'm running Birds of Paradise and Gilded Goose. Although Goose is a little worse than Birds for ramp purposes, it can create versatile Food tokens that can be used for lifegain or as sacrifice outlet for Indomitable Creativity or Pia and Kiran Nalaar.

On contrary of other Polymorph/Indomitable Creativity decks, this isn't focusing on comboing into Emrakul, the Aeons Torn. The plan is to run castable creatures that have a good impact on the battlefield and that have some kind of undying/persist/token effect.

The opponent will most likely be targetting our Indomitable/Polymorph targets to fizzle the effect, but with creatures that work well against removal, the opponent will still be under pressure even it they use removal against our creatures (with the exception of the mana dorks, of course).

So, with Indomitable Creativity and Polymorph we can also trade our mana dorks for higher-value creatures. And the upside of Indomitable Creativity is that it demands the opponent to use removal on ALL our targets to fizzle it.

The only removal that really annoys the deck is Path to Exile. Firstly for it makes us not be able to trigger our creatures (except for Thragtusk). Secondly because we don't run that many basic lands.

The deck also runs some copies of Raging Ravine to add more pressure if needed or (in dire scenarios) as a target to Polymorph.

Eternal Witness gives us some recursiveness to play again our Polymorph spells. But ideally, use it with indomitable creativity, since it has a higher hit chance.

The issue with the mana dorks is that a polymorph can sometimes only give us a Birds or a Goose. The deck compensates for it a bit with our creatures triggering when they die, but that is a chance that can occur, so keep that in mind. BUT, on the brighter side, there is also a chance to trade a birds for a wurmcoil engine.

Anyways, that is the deck so far. I hope you enjoy it and give me suggestions if you can. Have a nice topdecking.
