I have recently started reworking all of my EDH decks. Synergy, flavor, and fast mana are at the top of my to do list for all of them. My meta allows for the use of proxies for all but the most ridiculously expensive cards (power 9, Pendrell Vale, Moat, etc). Partially to allow for more interesting games, but mostly because one of our playmates has way more disposable income to spend on cards, and he wants us to all compete on a level playing field. We also shy away from cheesy combos and wincons, and cards in general that make it difficult for our opponents to play their own decks. Uril was my first EDH deck. He's not a general I would probably choose to build now. One trick ponies are great when you are starting out and learning, but now that I have been playing for a few years flavor and synergy are much more interesting. However, I am interested in making him as "spikey" as possible now for those times when we just have time for a short game. Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
