"Squealstokers! Build me a glorious pile of Mirran metal. Then add yourselves to the pile." - Furnace boss, sector 11

Scrapyard Salvo

Mirrans Slobad and Bosh are here to tinker with contraptions Drosselmeyer-style! I wanted to run a lower to the ground Mirrodin/Phyrexia-themed deck, and the Mirran goblin Slobad and his golem best friend Bosh are favorite story characters of mine, so The Great Work was on! Urabrask be so proud of Slobad, huh.

The goal of The Great Work being to stoke the fires of New Phyrexia by tossing everyone and anyone into the molten slag, the name of the game here is artifact recursion and burn triggers. The more of your artifacts you melt down, the more you benefit, the hotter it gets under your opponents’ feet.

Since I’ve started to enjoy the long game, this isn’t very fast for mono-red and in fact plays more like a strange mix of artifact combo and aristocrats. The fun of this deck is seeing how much you can pitch in and out of the Furnace in a single turn! It may not win often but you should always have something interesting to do with your board state.
