I wanted to do a Krav, the Unredeemed without Regna, the Redeemer. I already run an Orzhov token matters deck with Elenda, the Dusk Rose and I think she does it better, especially because of Regna's high CMC. To get both Krav and Regna onto the board is an initial mana investment of 11 CMC. So with that in mind and just to be different, I created a Krav, the Unredeemed deck. This deck could just as easily be piloted by Razaketh, the Foulblooded or Yahenni, Undying Partisan. Yahenni may actually be a stronger and more aggressive Commander for this deck, but I love the idea of having built in instant speed card draw on my Commander.

The basic strategy is to out value your opponents by drawing more cards, sacrifice creatures for value, and eroding your opponents board state by abusing death triggers at the same time.

The first part of this strategy is to get creatures out. To help get the density of creatures I need, I have included a decent amount of token production. These tokens are meant to be used as a resource to power the engine of this deck. They are not meant to be aggressively attacking. So I have included such cards as: Abhorrent Overlord, Endrek Sahr, Master Breeder, Grave Titan, Ogre Slumlord, Overseer of the Damned, Pawn of Ulamog, and Sifter of Skulls.

While making tokens is great, it isn't enough to feed the sacrifice hungry machine of this deck. To help offset this need to sacrifice creatures, I have included a good amount of graveyard recursion. Much of this is repeatable graveyard recursion effects to make the deck more resilient. This include cards such as: Chainer, Dementia Master, Coffin Queen, Demon of Dark Schemes, Grim Return, Haunted Crossroads, Nim Deathmantle, Phyrexian Reclamation, Reanimate, Mikaeus, the Unhallowed, Cauldron of Souls, and Mortuary.

With all this token production and graveyard recursion, it is time to put it to use. The most obvious use is to use Krav, the Unredeemed ability and start drawing cards. Combine him with Grim Haruspex, Harvester of Souls, and Smothering Abomination and you get twice the value when sacrificing creatures to his ability. Get added value from sacrificing you creature with Pitiless Plunderer, and Sifter of Skulls. As their stuff dies, make more tokens with Ogre Slumlord, and Overseer of the Damned. Besides drawing cards and making tokens, this deck will directly affect your opponents life totals as creatures die with includes such as Blood Artist and Bastion of Remembrance.

So how do you win with this deck?

The most straight forward is to make a really big Krav and kill people with Commander damage. This is the easiest to see coming and is the easiest to disrupt. I like to use it to get the last man standing.

There is an alt win condition with Liliana's Contract.

As you can see, I tried to make the deck both resilient and flexible. It can be explosive at times, but mostly it is meant to out value your opponents.

I have had a chance to play this a few times. It is a lot of fun and has multiple lines of play. Having a form of card draw always available to you is great. People tend to misjudge the threat level of the Commander, which works well for you.
